Does Money Buy Happiness?

Father once asked me the same question and i told him that money cannot buy happiness because happiness doesn't have a price tag. Between money can only buy what it produced

Yup it does. Even if money couldn't bring happiness, the lack of it definitely brings sadness. I grew up in a middle class family where we couldn't afford most of the shiny stuffs. I definitely know that I am in a better state now, with the income flow I have. It brings smile to my family. That's never bad, is it?

Aim high man. Achieve what you wanted to.. I bet you will be happy.

Thanks so much

I hope you all the best

God bless you

I agree with you 150% on this my friend..
I'm the same fk situation.. Time flies and can't see any change, wouldn't matter how hard I tried in the last 5 years to make myself a decent living.. Time goes and the I'm starting feeling hopeless and losing motivation the day it goes.

Maybe money can not buy you happiness, but having money it's very important if you want to be happy. It does not matter how positive person you are or how you do not care about material things, but you can not be happy if you do not have enough money to buy the medical supplies or the food needed for you.

Depends how u define happiness. I am pretty sure you can buy instant happiness like good looking hookers, traveling, expensive locations, restaurants and food. Many rich people who had all this killed themselves cuz deep inside they were unhappy, probably because real happiness lies in emotional fulfillment aka having someone who really loves you from the bottom of their heart or finding spiritual connection with God (which is also love). So I think the real happiness lies in love.

Wish money could buy happiness but it can't. Nothing how much you make money can't make you complete and happy forever.

Its how you use your money. If you have lower expectations in your life then some money can make you happy than a rich greedy billionaire.

Yea I definitely feel you and the worst part about it is it compounds, "you" 5 years later feel the burden of failures that you weren't feeling before when you were starting out. I know it because that is what I am feeling as if you missed the train and all your left with are the could've/should've/would've.

I don't want this to turn to a depressing thread/post. My best advice is first try to identify why you are not happy and try to deeply reflect back on your life, your decisions, what influenced those decisions, how you lived your life before and ask why I did this and that..etc try to think about your childhood and if that contributed to where you are now and see where you fucked up but DON'T get stuck in the blaming/regret phase because it is a trape that leads to a downward spiral try to be objective when you are doing this and try to come from a place of fixing not blaming.

I currently am in that phase thus I posted this post to be honest.

I'm still poor today, but it's obvious anyone agrees. "Money doesn't buy happiness" might have been true a bunch of decades ago, when life was simpler, and people had less worries, less requirements for life, and less society pressure. You own a house, go work at the shoe factory, come back to your newly wed wife making you fresh potatoes and spend the afternoon with your buddies at the bar. Today you need a car, a smartphone, a computer, a life insurance, college tuition for both yourself and your kids, and the cost of food has since then changed drastically. Let alone the fact that you are constantly reminded of how poor you are in comparison to thousands upon thousands of people who hit it better than you, whether through entrepreneurship, or just invested in bitcoin when it was low.

Money may or may not buy happiness, but being poor guarantees you to be miserable.

dammn i love this quote ! " Money may or may not buy happiness, but being poor guarantees you to be miserable"

Human is an animal that always seeking for more. No power-off.

Jordan Belfort:
Let me tell you something. There's no nobility in poverty. I've been a poor man, and I've been a rich man. And I choose rich every fucking time.

However, money isn't always the answer. people often confuse having money with greed.

Sort your head out, get working hard and the money and trappings will come but think what is more important to you.
Do you place money above family and friends?
My man at it again and yes family and not friends any given day above money haha

No doubt, money buys happiness. Ask even the guardians of religion, they all preach but at the end spread their palm to get some silver. Even God's work require money. :D

It solely depends on an individual. Everyone interprets value in a different way. Personally I can't state whether I'd be happier with lots of $$$ but I'd surely rather have it than experience stress and depression due to the lack of it..

I feel if I have money I will be able to get out of this rut and live the life I want not was is expected of me and this is another HUGE point.
Yes and reminds me of one quote by -Zig Ziglar -*Money isn’t the most important thing in life, but it’s reasonably close to oxygen on the “gotta have it” scale.*

I am in a period of my life that I feel I am in a downward spiral and feel tapped and can't get out of this situation.

No girlfriend, bad financial situation, hate the life that I am living, hate the place I am living in and the people's mindset is very depressing, past failures make me feel inferior to others and make me doubt I will do anything in life.

My only hope is money.

The problem is depending on how "bad financial situation" you are in if that is debt or over spending having money will not make you happy as you will continue to spend it can afford more expensive things, have larger debt and when that money goes you will be in a worse situation than you are now.

My advice.

If in debt pay off debt - get a job or many jobs and pay that money back as soon as that is off your mind the worry goes and things will improve.

Learn from your failures. IF you are NOT in debt look at what your last biggest expense was (not a purchase) like car tyres, bill, maintenance cost anything like that and then look to save 2x that cost back up. Once you have that saved up. You can cover any other future shock to your finances because you have savings.

Place 20% of your income away and start to save and learn to enjoy money.

THIS way should you ever make it and make millions or thousands (what ever that figure maybe) you at least know how to manage money and can keep hold of it.

If you are unhappy because you want to buy nice things - that's a mind set issue and you need a reality check..

I've had lots of money, had no money and managed to settle back somewhere in-between. As long as I can put food on the table, spend time with my wife and kids I'll always be "happy".

We are living in this giant economic machine.
Everything is about transactions goods/services.
Everything is about money.

Money is not just a piece of paper.

Money is energy.
Money is power.
Money is confident.
Money is security.
Money is happiness (even not 100%)

The more money you have, the more powerful you become.

But still it need to be balance between health wealth, and money wealth.

Or else, your money is pointless.

With money you can buy a house, in a place that you like. Travelling. Setup your own office, running your goals.

Attracting girls and friends. But be careful with gold digger and 2 faces friend.
