Are you still following this method? It has been about 6 months since this post, hence asking.
Yes I am.
How has your experience been is terms of stickiness of the ranks achieved with your method - do the pages that you had ranked say a year back or say 8-9 month back with this method, still maintain their ranks (assuming no link loss)?
Yes, at least 90-95% of my keywords are exactly where they were a year ago. The few that dropped a few positions (like 1-3 or 2-5, etc) were keywords I never targeted in the first place.
If not, till how long (how many months) did the gained ranks hold fortress approx, in your experience?
I have some keywords going back 18 months that are still ranking exactly like they use to. And I have a couple sites 4+ years old that I was very aggressive with back in 2012. Back then I outsourced all my SEO. The guy I used was great (for 2012). Would slam my sites with PBN links and I'd hit #1 in 6 weeks. Then around 2014 Google slapped his whole network. Those 2 sites dropped like rocks. Around Feb 2015 I started my own PBN. Avoiding all the lazy mistakes he made. Then summer of 2015 I got both those sites back up in the top 5 + 2 other sites and I have 2 younger sites around pages 2-4 that probably won't hit the top 5 till Nov-Dec.
I'd never say that ranks will hold forever. But I've seen enough PBNs in my life from both competitors and highly respected vendors to know my sites will be ranking a very very long time.
And please give some idea about the competition metrics/numbers of a couple of the toughest (most difficult) pages that you could rank with this method? I am only asking for "normal high-level" statistic details -both for your and the competitor's site that would help a lot of us, I am sure.
Thanks a lot, in anticipation of your response!
The best example I can give is adwords competition. And I didn't know this till about a year ago. But the single toughest keyword I rank for is the 28Xth (top 300) most competitive keyword in the world. There was a list shared right on this forum, I saw one of my exact keywords in the top 300, shit my pants and thought "if I knew this when I started I would have NEVER targeted this niche" which was a real eye opening experience for me (ignorance as virtue). Then I noticed my 2nd keyword was around the 318th most competitive in the world. I'd say a lot of my most competitive keywords have to fall somewhere between the top 300 - top 1000. One of my keywords has like a $165.85 CPC.
When I noticed this I wrote a lengthy guide that I was gonna share on here. Since I can prove (to a moderator or someone) that those are my sites. But out of paranoia I wound up sharing it with noone. Then I thought "I'll share it for JR VIPs only". But again weighed risk vs benefit, there's no benefit and only risk. THEN I thought "I'll sell it for a price most people can't afford". But that violates the main reason I post on here (transparency). Practically everywhere I am on the net I'm trying to sell something to someone in some way. On BHW, I might have a sig but I don't try to push anything on anyone. I can tell people to fuck off. Tell them their PBN is shit. I can admit to people I'm an idiot in many respects w/out it effecting any funnels I own.
At the same time I promised too many people I'd release it. So my own guilt will prob shame me into doing so. Most likely before my next vaca when I know I'll be off the forum for weeks. And even then I'll post it in the dead of night when I know most Americans are asleep.
