Does anyone else get really annoyed by people calling themselves "Ninja" or "Rockstar"?

For some unknown reason, it's particularly infuriating to me when I see job descriptions or headlines like "Python Superstar", "WordPress Ninja" or "React Rockstar". It's... not really childish, but it comes across as extremely naive and unprofessional, right between "uuuh... I don't really know what I'm doing but I'd like to stand out" and "Look how geeky I am!"

I instantly imagine some tiny guy with massive glasses and hipster beard whose entire portfolio consists of To-Do-List Apps.

dont take notice of pricks that write stupid stuff .

but i think rock stars are cool and i like ninja films ...

return of the ninja (( grate film))
ossey osbourne (( grate rockstar))

Those guys for sure aren't Fujibayashi Nagato or Jim Morrison, I'll tell you that much.

What's your thought on weird Karate belt levels for corporate courses. Six Sigma Black Belt for instance.

I've have never come across it. However what I do find cringey as fuck. Is people who make comments on Facebook followed by a string of crying laughing emojis. Like as though they are really funny.

- Micky BHW Ninja.

My thoughts on that are: They're either trying to pick up the youth or their marketing team is full of Buzzfeed guys.

It definitely is cringe, started sometime in 2010 but started really taking off recently. The old devs despised those terms, the new devs love it for some reason.

I know what you're getting at, when they start using 3-5 of those it's just this in my head:

ROFL is most widely used lie.
I dont think even 1% who writes is actually rolling on the floor.

I think it's used because start ups don't pay people enough nowadays so they try and attract young people with status titles. ie. instead of "Customer Service" you are a "Customer Happiness Expert" (still a shitty customer service job)
