I use AI content on every single one of my sites, they all have pretty stellar ranking, I think it more so depends on the intention of the website. If it's a low quality content farm just for profit then google can very easily find that out.

Bloomberg site looks in my eyes like a spammy content farm, but dominate google first page with multiple listings.

NO, it is not banned but it's very hard to rank the AI content.

Google doesn't have issue with the AI content, but they do have issue with low quality content produced by AI which doesn't fulfill the user intent or add some new value to the SERPs.
