Does a backlink become more valuable when the linking page starts ranking?

We've been tracking some of the backlinks we've created for clients. A few of the pages where we placed backlinks started ranking for medium competitive keywords and began receiving their own search visibility.

In those cases, the backlinks appeared to provide more value to the target pages. At the same time, we saw significant improvements in the rankings of the client pages receiving those links.

Does a backlink become more valuable once the linking page itself starts ranking and attracting organic visibility?

Or do you think the value of the backlink is mostly determined by the authority and relevance of the website, regardless of whether that specific page ranks?

Certainly, a ranking link page could provide additional contextual value if that page is organically visible and relevant enough.

However, I would not consider rankings to be the sole criterion for this context, authority, content quality, and the relevancy of the linking page itself should be taken into account while analyzing the backlink.

Of course, that is in fact the point of getting backlinks. You need links from sites that are already driving search traffic. See backlinks as referrals/recommendations. If Google already ranks a site, it could be considered to be trusted by Google, hence recommendations/referrals from it can be trusted by Google.

i believe that it can bring some value,however i would not claim that the link automatically becomes strong due to high ranking of the page where the link is posted.on the contrary, a page which receives some organic traffic usually indicates that the link is located in an appropriate environment.however, what really matters is the relevance of the link, its location, quality of the referring page nd whether the link is edittorial or not.
