No, at the end of my edgy teenage years I realized that the world isn't fair and that's okay. So I stopped pondering on questions like these.

Only if you allow it for yourself. There are still people that favor the real life interaction over the internet interaction. And honestly, i do the same.

I don't think if the future generations can afford to look back at us and think. The world is becoming a rat race. People are forced to work & earn money from a very young age. In future, 10-15 yo would be struggling to find a way to make money instead of thinking about past generations.

Industrialization ruined everything and we are suffering due to global warming. But, we don't blame our ancestors as we consider it to be useless. Same will be the case with future generations. However, they could find this thread and share your message on social media discussing, "See how this guy was thinking ahead of his time"

Maybe mate, but they'll 90% be more fucked up than us anyway.. like how people 50 years ago look at us.

There will always be evolution as to the quality of life and how things should or should not be handled.

I'm not saying our ancestors lived in trees and ate bananas 3 times a day but that the thought process and adjustments we make generationally are going to change. To hold what the previous generation did "wrong" against them is typically myopic at best as people work with whatever data they have.

Should we be angry with Ben Franklin, Nicola Tesla and Thomas Edison for electricity because to create it can cause crazy pollution?
Should we hold air pollution in LA against Henry Ford and the other men and women that were part of the genesis of the car industry?
Do we want to hang Philemon Pormont in effigy for inventing public schools as they rarely provide the quality of a private school?
How about we have hatred in our hearts for Richard Gatling because he invented automatic fire and many crimes are committed using automatic weapons?

I think not in all instances as we work with what we have just as they did.

BTW, none of these are shower thoughts and if they were I would start taking baths.

I think most people look down on the people that lived 100 or so years before them. This is why I always try and judge people by the standards of their times. Or else everyone through history including us are just terrible people and I don't think most people are terrible people.

I think I can answer this one. It's partially because of improper wealth distribution, and partially because some people are just too stupid to earn.

Yes for Benjamin Franklin, but no for the others. With Ben Franklin, it's not because of pollution, but moreso it's because as a kid in school, I was taught that he would go outside during thunderstorms, holding a kite with keys attached to it to work as a lightning rod (of sorts).

As a kid, I never questioned a person repeatedly getting struck by lightning and surviving and "discovering" electricity, as the result. As I got older and started conducting my own research, I learned about all the skeletal remains of children found underneath Ben Franklin's house, and it made me question who were really the ones holding the kites.

Anyway, all this is to address the original question. I think future generations will have similar questions about ours, as we've asked about others. One question I imagine them asking, would be about the operation of vehicles, such as:
"Wow! So it's called a 'steering wheel'? So they actually had to manually pilot ...err.. 'drive' their vehicles? But what if they wanted to sleep? They would seriously have to pull over and waste the time required to take a nap? That's horrible!"

I do think there will be certain levels of admiration, but with equal levels of disdain. We all have technology in our pockets that's far more powerful than the tech used to supposedly send astronauts to the moon, and yet we use it to watch videos of cats and play BS like "Fruit Ninja" and "Angry Birds".

Totally. Not from technological point of view, we have already achieved amazing stuff - nuclear energy, vaccines, decoding human genome, building ISS, internet, soon we will have computer-brain interface, quantum computers, nuclear fusion and space colonies, but in our minds we are still almost like apes. Hating each other for political( or even worse for religious views), spending crazy amount of money on military, producing unbeliavable high amounts of waste then throwing it into oceans, living just to hoard money and things, working eight hours a day in job you hate, voting still the same stupid politician with no vision, just because they are slightly better than the other guy.. all this stuff belongs to medieval age and that is exactly what future generations, few hundreds or thousands years in future will think about us, that we still lived in medieval age.

I'm from the present, and I look down on us.

Future generations don't have time to think like this because our schools and colleges created machines. They teaches each student how to get a corporate job.

Well, we are much better off than past generations..and this is were shit goes confusing. Its almost impossible to compare. I often ask myself "how was it to be alive 300 years ago?" or in the first or second world war, but it must be fucking terrifying to be born or grow up in a world full of madness, destruction and evilness. For example my grandfather who lost 5 of his siblings during WW2. How the fuck are you living if 5 of your siblings died in a war? I mean, that shit is heavy.

I was able to meet my grand-grandmother (she died over 10 years ago) which was born in the 20s and she met her grandmother, which was born around 1850. What I want to say is: Time is always relative. The circumstances are always relative. Things, which are normal for us, were unimaginable for my grandgrandmother or her grandmother.

There will never be any kinda understanding. Like I would never understand how they could burn women because of "witchcraft" in old Europe...and its not that long ago.

They may look down on past generations and ask mommy government to fix all the problems, stripping away more rights and freedoms in the process
