Do you really need people in your life?

Without my family and my girlfriend i dont think i could live. They keep me sane after all :)

And the memories you build with people that are important to you are priceless and wont ever leave you.

I don't need them... I could live alone perfectly fine.
Want is another story.

Everyone I've met and was "friends" with simply wanted money, services or to simply make themselves happy.

When you come to the end of your life, you will find that
the most memorable things were the people you knew
and loved and the great experiences you had - not the
amount of goodies you acquired.

I need a tight niched group of friends and people that love you for it to be worth anything. That is just my opinion though.

I understand where you're coming from and I agree to a point. Most of us don't remain the same year after year. If you're feeling like exploring loneliness right now pursue and feel contentment with that until you don't. Nothing wrong with it. When and it you change that decision nothing wrong with that. People are always projecting whats "normal" on each other. You ask the kinds of questions that make some of us uncomfortable but that's your normal. For now.

I usually do everything alone and remain content but there is nothing like meeting a new girl to hang out with (I have found that I have more fun with women, especially at college which is a no brainer). But technically speaking if you were the last person on the earth with no one to communicate with at least once then you would absolutely go crazy, but of course everyone takes friends for granted right now since thats not the case.

You could think what ever you want and feel what ever you want but "What is a round object that you use for recreation, can kick with your foot or hit with a bat" Answer = A ball. Likewise the most fundamental framework of any human (if you are human) is esteem, friendship and love, security, physiological and physical needs. If you are human and I am gussessing that you are in general if these needs are not met, the body gives no physical indication but you will suffer from anxiousness, depression, poor immune system...bla..bla...bla..etc. All Humans were created for fellowship...one popular book even quotes "it is not good for the man to be alone"... So my friend, make friends...LIVE...LAUGH...LOVE. while it gets tiring at times, consumes a lot of ENERGY....IT IS ACTUALLY MEDICINE FOR YOUR BRAIN AND BODY.

Maybe there 's no one in your vicinity that fits your criteria on friendship. But with 6 billion around the world, there 's a lot. Travel around and acquire experiences. Also, don't forget, as you have some requirements from your friends, they have from you, so make sure you are making yourself better as you go.

pesonaly I prefer to have and be with friends.this thread reminded me of this song

I mean, whats all the trouble with getting friends and "bff's" cant you just live your life by yourself and be happy? I dream about to travel around the world searching, and experiencing new things. But do you really need friends to do this? Does really one man needs companion to be happy? Cant he find happiness by himself and truly learn to be happy just by himself and with no other one around oneself? Sometimes i feel that the loneliness are the best times in my life, is there anyone else feeling like this? :)

LOL.. i'm also thinking about this dude..
but I don't have a friend with similar "hobby/thinking" ..
still searching for that.. where did you live btw?

I agree! I love being alone sometimes but friends and family can make you laugh and enjoy life more.

I think it is important to be comfortable and confident enough to be on your own, but I can tell you that the greatest experiences I have ever had came with people who I was close to and cared about.

At first I thought this was going to be a bartman thread. Life is better with more people in your life, not being alone.

OP, I am usually a guy that stays very aloof. However, when you meet somebody with your wavelength and hit it off, you just can't stay alone. You really yearn to meet that person and hang out with them again. I recently met a girl that is very like minded and I just can't wait for the next occasion to talk to her. It obviously helps that she is very pretty as well :)

Maybe you just have a boring set of friends. Try talking to new people. You will find at least one or two that will bring back the social spark in you!

as an IM its a good move to be socially active, i hate marketers that hide behind computers

Look at it this way, no friends equals no one to tell when you pick up a hot blonde because your confident. For starters you dont get confidence by being at home, alone infront of a computer screen. The only things that will make you confident is either having a strong network of friends who allow you to be yourself at all times or take drugs. Trust me i travelled to Europe for a few months this year and I went alone... it just wasnt the same having no one to share it with, even tho I made friends its the the friends I envisioned having those experiences with so it needs to be someone you connect with whether its a close friend male or female it doesnt matter. P.S its very hard to find a true friend if you haven't already and thats maybe because of your own selfish ways, no offence but most people that work on the net and IM are or because you dont have adequet social skills to go out and meet people but these two can easily be changed. I found that the more you go out and have a good time, the less you focus of stupid IM nonsense that noone even cares about, so i dont know about you but id rather be at a club drinking with gorgeous babes around me with mates on the side cheering me on ;)
