I'm interested to see how many people offer time or support or sponsorship to charities?

My Mrs is an animal behaviourist and she gives a day a week pro-bono to a dog rescue charity.

When I was living in the UK, I used to support a charity through giving time to help advertise and market their events for fundraising. I also make a donation each Christmas to a hospice.

So when @WebMinati mentioned he's already contributed to this worthwhile cause https://teamtrees.org/
to help their efforts, it was agreed we could do some more for them.

We have decided that our Art Of War SEO Agency should get involved too, so we've already donated for 50 trees planting. We'll continue supporting this charity through 2020.

So the question is;

What Good Are YOU Doing?

I haven't donated any money as such for a cause but since you have mentioned the tree plantation thing which is good, I am going to make sure to do my part and help them plant more trees

I usually donate to my favorite artists.

I want to donate, but using bitcoin only.

Anyone up for exchange?
I will send you $50 in btc and you can donate the viable amount after exchange fees to teamtrees.org
Well, even when it is about a donation, exchange is not allowed on BHW. No exceptions.

Since 2017 i always donated on the 31.12 and my goal was always to 10x the money that i am spending this year, for the next year.
So i spent 10$ on Charity in 2017, in 2018 i spent 100$ and on the 31.12.2019, i will be spending 1000$ to a charity.

I am pretty old fashioned, that's why i was always donated it to Bread for the World, which basically helps in food security and promotion of health and education.
Always 10x'ing the amount is sort of giving me a challenge to step it up a notch. It's a win-win situation in both cases.
I might decrease the 10x to a 1,5x or 2x after 10.000 tho, lol.

Just to be clear, I'm not asking for donations to any cause/charity here guys, I'm just asking what people do to help out ( if anything ).

Once a month, I buy 2 packs of US Stamps at an automated dispensing machine at our local Post Office.

I always leave one behind in the bin for someone else to find.

Random act of kindness in honor of my late sister in law.

If ever i come across kids struggling with disabilities/illness on newspaper, i always attempt to transfer an amount i can afford, given that a bank account or something similar is mentioned. It makes me feel good:)

Street dogs and cats are a big issue in India. We don't donate to animal welfare charities directly. Sadly, most of the donations end up in someone's pocket; and those poor animals still stay untreated and hungry. What I and my wife do, is feed street dogs and cats whenever possible. We have also sponsored neutering for more than one dog. 4 of the street dogs stay in my in-law's home right now. We are thinking of adopting another puppy (at my apartment, that is), but that's not gonna happen till my son is atleast 3 years old.

I think this is the least we could do, no matter whether we decide to donate or not.

A smile to someone is a big thing you can offer to someone, you don't need money to do good. And it's not just about smiling all day, doing good is much more than that, just having good thoughts could be enough actually. Wish you all good luck and happiness in business and life, respectively.

Added: OP, I know you are happy today. :)

Now this is such a positive thread to read!

Thank you for contributing to good causes as mentioned on the thread!

This is awesome! Thanks for writing it here. I don't like grant cardone's 10x but this 10x is something I would love to try :D

Correct you don't need money to do good. Donating a couple of hours to help out at a foodbank , an animal rescue or a homeless shelter is as important sometimes as a cash donation.

I come from a very poor family of a struggling single mom so my 'calling' was always to help single moms organizations. That's why I donate each month a certain percentage of profits to them, where they help moms with housing, food, school supplies, etc.

I'm also a part of a project ('be a godparent of a kid') for kids from less fortunate families. You get a name and age of a kid you give a monthly scholarship to and they let you know how are kids doing, what do they like, etc. You kind of 'watch' them grow in this world without knowing them :) I currently have 4 of them and have a goal to hopefully add two more next year.

Doing something for others, by donating time, money, or other resources will always make you feel better! :)

I'm actually planning on trying to make a difference by having a charity to help underprivileged kids go to school.
There is a lot of charity that pretend to help but actually dont so trying to Change that. I have not done much just set it up but hopefully if I make something from I'm I will use it to help others.

When times are good I make donations to my local churches. When times are bad I beg them for help ... well I did once .. it sucked ... may pick a different route to donate to next time haha

Also I recently found team tress from a plant trees subreddit.. has inspired me to move some seedlings from the inside of the forest I live in to the outside .. see if I can grow my forest :)

“Brot für die Welt“ is awesome! I love seeing Germans spending money on charity! (I’m also living there)

I personally also donate to different charities, mostly for country’s where there is war.

I have afghan roots so I also spend money on some charities that help afghans, because I know how bad the situation is.
