Do you believe that Google "promotes" sites built with WordPress?

Not long ago I heard people theorizing the opposite
Same. People saying stuff like this either don’t know what SEO is, or anything about G ranking factors…

OR they got something to sell you when you come to them for more detailed advice.

G does not care about what content management system you use. Many websites don’t use any content management system and can rank just fine.

They care about getting the right content to the right people that have an intent to perform some action of which your content makes it easy for them to achieve their goal.

In one of the most valuable searches within my niche, I’ve noticed a pattern regarding rankings. It has to do with the software used by the sites ranking in the top five positions—they are all built on WordPress.

The site I’m working on, which is also on the first page, has been developed using our proprietary software, designed with a similar logic to WordPress. However, after monitoring the competition for several years, I’m starting to believe that—whether officially or not—Google seems to "promote" WordPress sites, as if they are inherently more Google-friendly.

Have you observed something similar, or is it just in my head?
Actually, what happens in search engines, WordPress provides so many on-page seo tools which help websites to rank easier than othe websites builders.

Maybe it's because Wordpress is the most popular CMS? ;)

It might because most sites run on it and Googles spiders might be used to crawling them. Also they are very easy to optimze for seo anyways. I had a site running on Joomla and it ranked for several hundred medium competing level keywords. It required more work to seo optimize though than any wordpress i have so i havent bothered with it since then.

You're not imagining it—WP sites often rank well on Google, but it's likely due to indirect factors rather than Google directly favoring WP.

Could be, maybe a trust score or because of relevance but I don't think that is something specific about only using wordpress.

According to my opinion, it is more likely possible with WordPress.

Google ranks based on content and optimization, not the CMS, but WordPress is SEO-friendly by design.

you're not crazy man google does seem to favor wordpress sites but it's not because they officially 'promote' them it's more about how wordpress handles seo out of the box it naturally has good site structure internal linking and a ton of seo plugins that help optimize everything properly plus most wordpress themes are mobile-friendly and fast which google loves custom-built sites can rank just as well but they need more manual work to optimize properly if your site mimics the structure and best practices of top ranking wordpress sites you should be fine but yeah wordpress makes it way easier

With WP websites you meant sites that use WP CMS or Wordpress subdomains?

Technically Most of the Wordpress themes are well optimized for SEO. That may be the reason for their ranking.

I don't think that. i believe that google only helps who have user friendly information. it's doesn't matter which CMS using for build website.

No, Google does not explicitly "promote" WordPress sites. However, WordPress is SEO-friendly, which can help websites rank better if optimized correctly.

You were right that the top 5 sites on the SERP are built with WordPress. This is another indication that Google values WordPress sites. However, I believe that while you can use any CMS, what truly matters is how well you execute SEO and analysis. WordPress just makes it easier to customize and align with SEO best practices.

No, Every SEO optimized site that even built on HTML or PHP can be given what SEO work have they done for it.

Most bloggers use WordPress that's why you see WordPress sites there because handling the HTML or PHP site is quite challenging.
