Like, it's more than obvious where these newbie accounts just bump a thread with the latest reply from months ago with a totally useless reply,
Anyone with the least common sense would know that's a bot with AI content,

You can use some Xenforo addon to lock threads in certain sections after XX number of days from the latest reply,
Or simply add a rule so mods can do that and warn/ban or lock such threads but that will put another stone in their back,

Anyone who's browsing the forum regularly can obviously spot that the forum is being spammed more and more by these bots by irrelevant spammy posts,
Just in order to sell accounts, manipulate the forum, etc...
That's literally ruining the forum and the UX,

I know it's not as easy to set the minimum requirements for a post or to control such member's (bots) behavior,
But there's something that should be done somehow and most of it can be done automatically with the right scripts

The best thing you or any other member can do is to report it. We all realize this can happen, and all the mods try to get rid of spammers, but we rely heavily on you, the member, to keep BHW spam-free. I hope this answers your question, as the others have mentioned this in the past.

Lastly, we have had members that have pmed us possible spam networks, so repeating my point is that "you," the member helping out, can eliminate spam, but in the end, it's a cat-and-mouse game.

Automatically blocking all rules out chances for exceptions. If mods do this manually, it will take lot of time. We can ignore this or better report such cases.

They are either aging accounts to be sold later or used in their own scams.

You should analyze each Jr VIP's sales thread if he had his post count increased by useless spam posts and then add a warning banner to his sales thread and/or user profile on how he achieved his first 150 posts or whatever it is for Jr VIP.

This could be easily done as the sales threads are approved manually anyway, right.

I don't think anything can be done, really. Personally, I've reported a lot of accounts in the last 12 months, but new accounts just reappear the next day and send the same 10 replies on the same 10 threads over and over again.

It's too simple to create an account, verify an email, and reply to a thread.

Sadly, all we can do is just report it, I guess.

This has been answered well by @Mrnewbie and other members. Please report these instances when you can so we can look into them.

There are already measures in place to stop this type of thread bumping / spamming and we catch the majority of spammers. But nothing is foolproof. For those that get through we ask the forum to report so we can review and improve the process.
