Do looks matter in this world?

yeah, depending on how busy you are with keeping yourself alive, you can take the time off to learn English. you can even be successful with IM in your local idiom, it's just less flashy. i think all that stuff CAN matter if you leverage it, but you can do well without it too. yeah, i agree online is a bit more of a level ground. i feel that from all the things i have experienced in life, the peak of fairness is poker. its just you. whatever you tilt or not, what stuff you study. yeah, your starting money and intelligence and emotional control matters but that's the same with anything.

I never cared about local in my online career, if i can call it that.

I just figured in the beginning that if i get 0.0000001% of global, it will beat the 0.0000001% of any local.

So even if i have the tiniest bit of success, even if i just manage to get the lowest of the low money fruit i can, the global amount will definitely be greater than the local amount.

I dont know if i was right or wrong on that, but it made sense to me then, and it still does. And i have a few $ to show for it too.

That said, sure you can blow up with an online business in any tiny local area and make a ton of money. But assume you dont. Assume you suck. Assume youre unlucky. Assume youre too incompetent to make something explode and make tons of money.

Youll fail more locally than you will globally :p

It's good if you're black handsome + skills , but yeah there are some elderly and Karens who won't like not that their opinion matters
Don'matter about karen, they are nothing

There is no formula.
Just associate with people who have similar traits/beliefs/interests as you and you'll have the best chance of being compatible.

If you make $200k a year, hangout with people who make $200k a year.
If you have brown hair, hangout with people who have brown hair.
If you are into fancy cars, hangout with people who are into fancy cars.
If you work online, hangout with people who work online.

It's too true that birds of a feather flock together.
If you aim outside this, you have a higher chance of ending up disappointed.
This advice is kinda eye opening
But what would you do if you have great childhood or teenager freinds who were with you in your bad times. But you don't have anything common with them now ! What would you do?

Lol, of course looks matter. Whenever I look at my reflection in the computer screen I get depressed and more motivated to make $$$.

All of my childhood and teenager friends had similar hobbies and traits as me.
I'm sure they're worth keeping around if you've still maintained friendship

If you have Loads of Money , Looks Won't matter

If you have No Money , then the world will Point out your small Mistakes, Criticize you.

My Personal Opinion

I’m actually a petite Asian woman. If I could change my usertitle to Miss Yes like @Echo, I would.
If that's what you identify as be my guest ;)

Going to quote my father:

" When I had the choice to employ 2 women, both equally smart, I would usually pick the one with nicer looks ".

I told him he is a jerk and he laughed!

We live in a shallow world.

However, let me tell you this; you don't need to be good looking to make a good
impression if you have the right energy and take proper care of yourself (hair washed, clothes are tidy etc).
And people with an open, approachable attitude are often appreciated.

Looks absolutely matter, but I think it's a bit deeper than the surface level shit people associate with attractiveness (usually ugly people who think it's "vain" to care about how you look or how your mate looks, which is just an excuse for their own laziness and mediocrity).

Looking good requires effort:

You have to be physically fit, which requires working out regularly and eating a healthy diet.

It requires you to get adequate sunlight so your skin looks more vibrant.

You have to actually put some thought into the clothes you wear and how they fit your body (and when you work out, everything fits and looks better on you).

You have to practice good hygiene and have an actual hair style.

All of these things not only make you look better externally, but also most of them make you healthier internally as well. And from an evolutionary standpoint, attractiveness = healthier, which = better reproductive fitness, which = higher quality and better looking mates.

Looking good also increases your confidence exponentially, and confidence is extremely attractive to the opposite sex as well as being good for your own mindset.

Furthermore, because of the effort involved, it shows you're not a lazy slob and that you're willing to put the required work into achieving something that many others aren't willing to do. It sets you apart from mediocrity.

Everyone dates somewhere close to their own integer. If you're a 5, you aren't going to get a 9-10. I'm sure someone is going to say "but if you're rich it doesn't matter." Yes it still fucking does, at least if you want your partner to actually be attracted to you. Very few highly attractive women will actually be able to get aroused and fuck some abhorrent slob who's obese and has no personal hygiene, even if he is wealthy.

And yes, society absolutely treats attractive people differently than they treat unattractive people.

You don't have to be born with it either, nor do you have to slather makeup all over your face if you're a female. Everyone can start exercising, choose healthy food options, groom themselves regularly and practice good hygiene, and do the little things that make a major difference in how you look and feel.

Depends.. most people look for looks.. If you are fit enough, you dont have to bother about your skin color.
