looking good takes a lot of effort. people take beauty for granted but aren't ready to put in the effort themselves. it's not just the gym; it's eating well, learning about clothes and combinations and styles, picking a good haircut instead of the same shit you had for the last 10 years, getting some sunlight, smiling, and washing your teeth. and that's without taking into account the huge effort makeup can be for women depending on their skin type. it's not cheap, but its also not something you can just throw money at. and it's definitely not just a genes thing. you can look and be great without a headstart in the gene pool. and you cant really look good without some effort.
i admit it ticks me off a little when people say stuff like "her only talent is being hot".

i don think competitive fairness exists outside very specific places (i would say poker is one of those). everyone has different starting points that help and hinder different paths. i just don't see the point in looking for fairness when we all have our competitive advantages and disadvantages.

The equation for attracting females is something like
Looks + Status + Money + Personality = Attractiveness
The weighting of each factor can vary from person to person. I'd say generally it looks something like
(0.40 * Looks) + (0.1 * Status) + (0.40 * Money) + (0.10 * Personality)
Obviously each factor in the equation would have to be normalised to some degree.
And as you can see I believe Looks are quite important. You can make up for it with everything else if you are ugly but the girl will probably just be more or less an actor. They won't genuinely want to have sex with you. If you are rich you will still most certainly be able to find partners no matter what. It is the same if you are incredibly attractive, girls will fuck you no matter what.
A combination of physical looks and wealth are key. I spend just as much effort on my beauty as my wealth. I was already quite attractive beforehand but now that I've put in effort dating is quite easy for me. But when girls are easy it makes is difficult though to have stable relationships.
Things I've done to work on my beauty include:
Chewing falim gum
Gym training, with neck training included
Had a small mole removed from face
Straightened teeth

yeah, depending on how busy you are with keeping yourself alive, you can take the time off to learn English. you can even be successful with IM in your local idiom, it's just less flashy. i think all that stuff CAN matter if you leverage it, but you can do well without it too. yeah, i agree online is a bit more of a level ground. i feel that from all the things i have experienced in life, the peak of fairness is poker. its just you. whatever you tilt or not, what stuff you study. yeah, your starting money and intelligence and emotional control matters but that's the same with anything.
