I had created many websites and read about different techniques to do proper SEO.

But I'm confused about long trail keywords.

Like if a good authority website is ranking for "nike shoes" then it is the waste of time to use long trail keyword like "best nike shoes for running on a treadmill".

If someone types "best nike shoes for running on a treadmill", the authority sites will pop at the top.

No matter how much SEO, the result will be same (authority sites will rank better).

So what's the point of using long trail keywords???

The key is to get low competition long tail keywords. If you write a bunch of articles on such keywords, you'll definitely rank!

most of the time that's how it goes, yes.

However, if you optimize your article for this particular keyword and you get a few strong backlinks to its page, and you also have a topically relevant site (topically relevant in this case means site about shoes or about running shoes) you will rank. Now, whether you'll rank at 1 or 10, it's a different story and depends on other factors (your site's authority, number of RDs, the toughness of your competition, your content versus your competition's content, and many other factors). But in general, long tail keyword + good content + strong backlinks + topically relevant site = rank on 1st page

And by the way, it's long TAIL, not long TRAIL :)

Thnx for correcting me ...I know it's longtail but thanks to autocorrect.

So basically the most important things are authority and backlinks...

no problem :)

And yeah, authority and backlinks are 2 of the most important ranking factors, but don't rely on these 2 factors alone. SEO is not math, and sometimes you can outrank tough competition without a single backlink if all other signals are checked, or if the niche is not competitive

You need to find long tail keywords with no competition, so if you see high authority sites ranking in the top 10 you need to disregard it.

Yes, long-tail keywords definitely help, but sometimes it depends on your niche, and specific queries, some topics just demand ideal 3-word keywords still longtail keywords always help.

I just wanna give you two tips about long-tail keywords:

First, Long-tail keywords are longer and more specific keyword phrases that visitors are more likely to use when they’re closer to a point-of-purchase or when they’re using voice search.

Second, Long-tail keywords are useful for services that desire their web content to place in organic Google searches, however, they're possibly a lot more valuable for marketers running paid search advertising and marketing projects.

That's because when you bid on long-tailed keywords, the price per click is inevitably reduced, considering that there are fewer competitors.

By targeting much longer, much more certain long-tail key phrases in your AdWords campaigns, you can get higher ad positions on pertinent searches without needing to pay costs for every single click.

The technique is to locate a reliable, sustainable resource of long-tail search phrases that are right for you and also for your particular niche. Remarkably, most keyword recommendation tools forget this abundant category, focusing just on the head, as well as ignoring the remainder of the dragon.

Then, try to find long tail keywords in a less competitive niche. We all know that shoes, finance, crypto, medicine, real estate are not worth even trying to get into, even through "longest" tail keywords.

The specificity of long tail keywords also means that there is less competition for each keyword phrase.
Although long-tail keywords have lower search volume, they also have a strong upside. They're far more likely to convert than short-tail keywords because they're more specific.

Long tail keywords are help to boost you rank. With smart implementation of long-tail keywords, you may pull in less traffic

Yes, not only are they easier to rank for due to keyword difficulty but they will also cause you to naturally rank for more keywords as well. The more long-tail keywords, the longer your article, the more keywords you'll rank for. :)

nowadays only long-tail-keyword works without getting tons of links and spam

Long-tail keywords can be useful if you combine them with regular ones, ie short. In the example that you put, yes, authority sites would show among the first results as here we are talking about one globally famous brand. But, if you offer something that has lower competition and it's not that present on the web, then your site would also get the chance to rank when someone searches for some long-tail phrase. Give it a try definitely, at least you could include them in some blog articles or longer content pieces on your site.

Long-tail keywords get less search traffic, but will usually have a higher conversion value, as they are more specific. They allow you to gradually get more traffic to your site and be found by new and motivated audiences.

Yes, long tail keywords are really working. The think is to focus on unique keywords to rank yourself.

Yes, but pick unique and low competition long tail keywords. Next step is to scale.

It's easier to compete with internal pages with no links, even if the site enjoys high authority

My answer is absolutely!

Long-tail keywords are awesome if you are looking for keywords that your competitors either overlook or simply don't bother with.

Here's how it works.

You should come up with a list of your top competitors and enter them into SEO tools like Ahrefs or SEMrush.

It doesn't really matter what tool you use.

They have a feature where they would list the organic keywords your competitors are ranking for.

Now, you need to sort that list based on keyword difficulty.

This is where the magic happens.

You'd take that list of keywords and then you cross-reference them with their monthly search volume.

If you do your homework properly, you will be able to identify keywords that are easy to rank and that have decent search volumes.

Start with those!

Build your blog around those.

Get as much content as you can that is built around these keywords.

Deliver on their search intent, and build up your domain authority over time.

Once most of your pages start to rank, start targeting more competitive keywords.

That's how you play the blogging game to win.

Definitely YES! Is are easy to rank due to relatively low competition.
