Do Instagram stories still help with engagement ?

Stories can still be useful because they keep followers connected between regular posts They also give people more reasons to interact through replies polls and questions Regular activity usually matters more than posting stories only once in a while

You need for organic reach and ads, reels for viewers to convert them to buyers, then you get followers , for them you need another IG format for engagement to make them buy from you. But both are capped to max. 10% from IG. Later when you make money spend ads to get much much more viewers (and buyers) and unlock your follower base, when you use systems DM ,use a delay always and not use meta, because it has strict DM anti spam policy.

Then you will get the ball rolling and you can scale high.

Use reels for discovery and stories for nurturing and selling, expecting Stories to bring in new reach on their own won't work but if you're trying to drive dm conversation or warm up an audience stories outperform reels every time

For me reels bring new people in while stories get more replies and interaction from current followers.
