Do I need offshore hosting for url shortener site

Im thinking about getting a cheap vps to shorten urls linking to main site which might have copyrighted content.

while the website is merely for generating urls for social media, is it necessary to find offshore hosting or normal provider would do?

A normal provider like contabo should get this done
Except you want those
10 USD per year vpa on loet

Yeah I’ll be looking for those one dollar ones if possible, and set it behind cf. I wonder if IPv6 only vps works?
 
I am too looking for suggestions. i have made multiple url shortner but a lot of people used it to short fake pages and adult contents direct img url so i got issues.
 
You should be fine with a normal VPS (Contabo was a good recommendation above), however, if you're aware that your site or posts are being tracked (i.e., you continue to receive DMCA notices despite navigating various domains/TLDs). Then I'd maybe consider a cheap VPS like al.uy (can recommend) for ensuring it doesn't cause you any more issues. Be interested to know how you get on, not gone down this route yet, but seeing more and more operators expand into the area...

If you will get dmca notices then is better to get a cheap offshore vps to

Cloudflare > Cheap offshore vps reverse proxy > OVH / Hetzner / Contabo

Choose one of this provider, most of them are offshore

Different prices, check them all. Most of them are dmca ignored, but ask first.
