Do Facebook throttle reach?

I have a Facebook page which recently had a few break out posts (by my standards anyway!)

But since these posts, things have died right down, almost unnaturally so (to a point lower than preciously.

Do Facebook decrease your reach if you become substantially more successful (from an organic reach perspective) than have in the recent past?

your initial reach was most likely because of viral posts taking off, which is luck.

your reach was always low, they want you to boost.

Given that I had about 3 really successful posts in a row and then back to crap, I just thought there might be something more to it... like a cap imposed by FB if you exceed your average weekly reach or something like that?

Or some other conspiracy that might absolve me from having - what is - a fairly crappy page.

Looks like I just have to accept I got dumb ass lucky...
