Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about adding both a "Who We Are" or "About Us" page and a "Terms and Conditions" page to my website. I’m wondering if either of these really makes a difference for SEO, or if they’re just nice-to-haves. Have any of you noticed any significant changes in your website's rankings after adding these pages?

I’m curious to hear your thoughts—do they actually affect search engine rankings or user experience, or is it just extra content that doesn’t have much of an impact?

Looking forward to your insights!, Thanks!

you should have both pages anyway (they do help with SEO indirectly because they build trust and credibility in your site / business).

But directly only the "About Us" page helps because it increases the trust and EEAT scores of your website, especially if it's well crafted and has accurate information (pictures of yourself and / or your team, data about your business that your visitors need to know in order to trust you, etc)

An 'About Us' page builds trust, and 'Terms and Conditions' add credibility. They may not directly boost SEO, but they help with user experience. Have you seen any impact after adding them?

They certainly add credibility and legitimacy to a website/business.

I have never seen a rank increase after adding these pages.

But it sure enhances user experience. I am looking for these often myself and if I don't find them it's a flag.

And the url /about-us can be sent to rank too?

And just exactly this is what the “most” reliable sellers should avoid, a client finding something in their website . They (the ones that have added the pages) put the buttons in the footer of the page yeah the little letters
There are others that add the button in the navbar that’s cool but the content start with

Lorem ipsum…

It is rankable page if that's what you mean.

It actually often outranks homepage in local search which drives local business owners mad.

They should? :)

Oh yes! These are the best.

For starters, this is a good discussion and should help a lot of SEO teams.

Secondly, @tazarbm, maybe you could create an About Us page and share it in here so those that need visuals can see one?

I can't do this as I don't have the information in front of me to know how to craft the page (I'm not very creative to be able to figure stuff out of thin air :p )

But I did a bit of research and found some cool pages that you can take inspiration from. But don't just blindly copy these formats, get creative and useful with the information that you know your potential visitors would need / love to know about you, or your business. The more (accurate, of course) info you can give them upfront the easier it will be for them to trust and buy from / work with you.

And it will also help the google fuckers to trust your site more because they see that you're real and that you provide real credentials, and this helps boost your EEAT scores (of course, this means absolutely nothing if your About page is top quality but the rest of your site is garbage, including your services :D )

Anyway, here are some About Me pages...

And here are some About Us pages of various companies across different industries...

Thanks for going through the work to post them for the community.

I also haven't seen any for SEO, but agree they help for credibility. Of the 4 things a money site should shoot for (ranking in the SERPs, optimizing traffic apart from the search engines, improving user experience, or (if a money site,) selling your product), About and Terms pages are the simplest to do for UX. Most IM sites aren't complicated enough to need uniquely made pages, so slightly modified boilerplate templates will do.

If you don't have an idea how to word About beyond a one sentence statement, one Idea would be to include 4-5 of your main keywords in the verbiage. That should cause you to make up a paragraph or two to fit all those keywords in, thus helping it out for ranking purposes.

That makes a lot of sense! Even if they don’t directly impact SEO, improving UX and credibility is always a plus. I like the idea of incorporating main keywords naturally into the 'About Us' page that's a smart way to make it more useful for rankings.

I think adding both the "About Us" and "Terms and Conditions" pages is a good move, but their impact on SEO might not be as big as some other changes. The "About Us" page can help build trust and connect with your audience, which can keep people around longer and reduce bounce rates. That could give your SEO a little boost over time, especially if you include relevant keywords.

As for the "Terms and Conditions" page, it's mostly about legal stuff, but it does show you're serious about your business and helps with credibility. SEO-wise, it’s not likely to make a huge difference, but it’s definitely worth having, especially for trust and compliance.

In short, they might not cause any major ranking changes right away, but they’ll improve your site’s overall trustworthiness and user experience, which could indirectly help your SEO in the long run.

My two cents on the subject...
Just copy and paste into ChatGPT or Claude...

I need you to help me write an engaging and compelling ABOUT-ME page for my personal blog. Ask me what you need to know in order to write it.

These are the first pages you should create if you are looking to build trust.

Hey Dear! I want to start my SEO journey. Could you please tell me where I should begin and what will be in demand in the future?

because they build trust and credibility in your site / business)
This is the only thing they do. If you own a legit business then you should probably add these pages to your website.

But if you own greyhat or blackhat niche website then it not be necessary to add them there.
