When I was 5 years old, my father woke me up one night and took me out with some of his "friends". Now, I won't say who my father was and what he was involved in, just know that he's a very bad person.
Him and his "friends" then found a man, presumably homeless, and my father made me look at the man. He said, "Boy, you need to be hardened to survive in this world, you need to be tough". Him and his friends killed the man in front of me. I can still see the man's dead face in my memories as he lied there on the ground, blood pooling on the street's asphalt. Eventually, once they were done celebrating, they grabbed his body and tossed it in a dumpster. I can still hear what my father said: "Nobody will miss him". He was right, nobody missed him, nobody cared.
I have many more examples of the atrocities my father committed, but the point I'm trying to make is that
there are real problems in this world, and this isn't one of them.
- Firstly, the infractions are not discriminatory as nobody is discriminating against you. I mean, who even are you? I'm not trying to dismiss any potential contributions you may have made to the forum here, I just simply don't know who you are, and I doubt the other moderators know enough about you to discriminate in the first place.
- Moderators are not "selectively issuing infractions", the examples you found are unreported issues
- Your post was not "conveniently caught". A moderator either happened to come across it or they were informed about it by another member via reports, support, or DM.
- Your thread was not "exactly the same" as the others; there are always minor contextual differences that can make a difference in your intentions. See the image below to understand what I mean.
But look, I completely agree with you, it does make us look inconsistent. As much as I appreciate this feedback and as right as you are to start discourse on the matter, this just wasn't the best execution. We rely on the community to help us moderate the forum by reporting this issues when they find them, not as a whataboutism response. Jumping straight to assumptions or accusing us of being biased helps us in no way to better moderate the community.
With that said, I will discuss this with the rest of the team on Monday to see if we can implement a clear rule against exchanges. If any change occurs, it will be posted in the changelog, and if your infraction turns out to be incorrect, send in a support ticket to have the infraction considered for removal.
Speaking of which, next time you receive an infraction, please use support.blackhatworld.com as this is the proper channel to go through.
