Direct traffic Increased

Hi all,

In google analytics, i noticed that *direct traffic* for my website got all of sudden.

And organic decreased in fact leads also decreased. What could be the reason?

I checked my keywords position, there is not much difference as compare to last month.

So whats the reason ??

Please reply.

When you check with the windows search and you will be directed to Bing. When the user clicks through that, your count will counted as direct traffic.

Hope, you can check with real time status.

Direct could be because of Reddit, organic traffic mat be a coincidence

But how come direct traffic all of sudden increased and my organic dipped. Though i blocked mine as well as other users IPs in analytics

Your site was probably discovered and/or shared on social media, which has led to increased direct traffic. The decrease in organic traffic, on the other hand, is probably just a coincidence. It will all probably even out within a week or two.

Check user behavior and bounce rate of your site through analytics if its normal then dont worry.

I'm seeing a similar situation on my authority site. I published a new article yesterday which has already received 80 views of direct traffic today. I did nothing to promote the article at all besides submitting to GSC.

Reddit is removing referrer field. Visits seem like direct hits.

You can test this by submitting a popular post to reddit then watching live logs to your site, add utm_source=reddit and you'll see tons of visits without a referrer.

I have noticed the mostly Google Analytics referring yahoo traffic as direct traffic

Be careful if you have adsense on the website. It'll lead you to get ad limit.
