I have fiverr gig where I offer website development. To get clients I have worded it as "website development and optimization". All I get is clients asking for website that they want to rank on first page of G. How should I deal with this situation?. If I explain them optimization is not same as ranking 1 in G I risk loosing clients. How do I explain the difference between SEO / optimization and ranking on 1st page in G? I need to have the word optimization on the gig title to get clients.

Well SEO is also a website optimization where you are making changes so that one website is optimized for search engines. Ultimately the goal is to provide best user experience, but what is the point if you are not getting enough traffic. So if your GIG is about website optimization, you do on-page(your part) and let the clients know about off page and guide them how it can be done.

I think website optimisation in itself is a part of SEO. You can offer development + on page SEO to the client and explain that that is not the only contributing factor to ranking. For offpage SEO, partner up with someone from BHW who’s selling packages and offer them to your clients as an upsell. That day you’re offering the entire package.

Will that be like a job requirement post on bhw? Am I allowed to do that as a newbie? If so under which forum I should post that?

You’ll essentially be buying and reselling someone else’s services from BHW, on another platform. I don’t think that’s an issue but don’t quote me on that.

I think I can post under > making money > hire a freelancer and if I am splitting the earning which I don't think will be the case I can post under > making money > joint ventures.
It's kind of related job but client will be paying directly to the off page seo freelancer so I think it's not joint venture.

First, you have to be clear on what website optimization is to you. Maybe you could leave the job title as it is, but define it better in the description of the gig. Whether you’re offering keyword optimization, marketing, or web design services, take the time to explain what constitutes each of the services you offer. I completely understand why people are confused as to what they can expect out of website optimization services. After all, many services define their offers differently. So I think it’s best to explain exactly what you can and can’t do upfront.

Just browse through the Marketplace SEO-Packages sub. Find a reputable service seller and resell it to your clients at a markup. Out of courtesy, let the seller know you'll be reselling/white labeling his services (You might even get better rates as a reseller). I don't think it's against BHW's ToS so long as you don't try and resell the services here/leverage off of BHW's traffic without buying Jr.VIP.

I don't want to resell , I want clients to directly deal with seller regarding off page seo. It takes 6 months to 2 years to rank on first page of G. There is no way I can sell it on fiverr as delivery time is like 6 weeks max.

Yes keyword optimization and website design development. Essentially website building business excluding off page seo. But I get greedy clients who want to rank on first page of G. Thing is I don't want to buzz them off by telling them I will only do on page seo. It's kind of catch 22 situation.

In that case, I think what @Writerly said kinda hit the nail on the head. Be clear about what you offer.

1. Explain thoroughly the kind of optimization you do, in the description.
2. Let your clients know that the optimization you do DOES help in ranking, but is NOT the sole contributor and that there are many more factors that come into play.
3. Offer some advice, or offer to point them in the right direction (to a service provider from BHW or other sources). Be sure to pick a solid one, since your reputation is at stake as well.
4. Work out some kind of commission scheme with a seller here or from whichever platform you get your sources from for referring leads to them.

I think most buyers on Fiverr, which are not IM/SEO savvy, would prefer to get everything or most of it from one provider than to waste hours trying to find multiple providers. This will be especially beneficial to you if you already provide top-notch web development services since the trust has already been established.

You are right that some buyers don't want multiple providers. I don't want trying explaining on the gig as the buyer will not contact me then. I want to subtley convince them to get a off page seo for long term along with my service.
