Just wanted to know if I have to do anything different to get ranked and indexed on Google versus Bing?
I have a site that I want ti get ranked and indexed on bing thanks for any help
Bing and Yahoo aren't smart enough yet they're still evolving their algorithm and Google has overtaken them with a much more intelligent machine learning algorithm. I think between Bing and Yahoo they owned about 24% of the market in order to rank within them traditionally you would follow the same tactics that you followed in Google in 2010 which is higher anchor text ratio a lot of links and pretty much bringing up any SEO articles from back in the day however these tactics would eventually get you slapped in Google so interestingly enough that quickest way to rank in being is the fastest way to get slapped in Google!
I've just had a look and Bing and Yahoo are still sharing approx 20-25% of the market share of yearly searches. Vlad is 100% on the money that they're not as sophisticated yet with their algos. However, spam still works well (if done properly) for churn and burn on Google. The benefit of course is that this spam can also rocket you to the top of B/Y and still bring in money long after Google has kicked your site to the kerb.
Although I won't discuss any spammy techniques here in the White Hat section.
Totally different game. Simple example: Google loves quality backlinks. Bing loves quantity backlinks. Totally opposite. So you can't work for both. You have to choose one and work for one. I think you may want to go with Google. Because higher organic traffic comes from Google than Bing.
haha, so basically if bing/yahoo prefer quantity over quality, compared to google, they are an useful indicator if you are doing things right on google. In other words, if you are ranking higher in google vs bing/yahoo, you are on to something, if it's the other way around you are doing something wrong (if you are targeting google).
Hello,
The concept to rank on BING and Google are the same, but you must use more spam links with also a higher keyword density. They also have different algorithms as well so take note of that.
Hope this helps!
Question please - regards KEYWORD RESEARCH. I can more easily research keywords on BING and YAHOO than Google - who are hyper-deadly on banning proxies etc. So, if use BING/YAHOO for KEYWORDS - will that basic KW research cross-over well to aiming for a page 1 Google ranking or not a lot of commonality between those three search engines regards Keywords.
I see ranking on Bing like it was for Google in 2011... EMD, keyword stuffing, anchor text manipulating, lots of backlinks with average quality... but that would get you slapped on google, so your best practice is to go more with google's way and do quality contextual tier1 backlinks, bing likes them, too.
