Hello BHW! I'm a new member here, and didn't expect to be on a forum like this, but it seems like my project has limited traditional options.

I've created a free-to-play online scavenger hunt game. However, its reward is a cryptocurrency and that has made it difficult for me to find ways to gain users. While searching for alternate user acquisition methods, I found BHW.

The idea for the project came to me in late December of last year and beta went live on 2/28/2019. Updates on reddit have provided the initial core users and seem to have validated the concept.

Currently, every hour of the day is filled with users trying to find the prize location.
Many users visit the site >15 times per day.
Video ads and offer walls have provided the current revenue, approx $30 per month.

Once the site reaches 100k page views per month I will implement a better ad network and drop a-ads. I will also begin to try and directly selling ad space.

I'd really like it if anyone can share how they think I might be able to acquire new users or advertising networks that will accept my app. Facebook won't allow me to advertise. It is available in the Google Play store, but I am unsure they will let me advertise it on their network either.

It is written in Angular with Google Firebase.

What cryptocurrency is it ? I'm in the space of crypto since end of 2017 ... Had the chance to make some big money with that bull run, but when you get greedy you miss the chance ... Waiting for the new bull run ... hihi :D Good look with it anyway.

The crypto is Request.Network (REQ). The bull run was fun, can't wait for the next.

My app has nothing to do with trading or anything financial, just pays out the token for those that win a prize in the scavenger hunt. It's a bummer the primary networks are shunning it.

How much are you spending to keep the server online?

It's hosted with Google and their pricing is extremely flexible. At this time, it is only costing several dollars per month for server costs. Cost scales with use.

This kind of websites are very difficult.I saw a lot of professional websites with your concepts which exploded with traffic but had to close their doors because they had no funds for rewards.
Frist important question is where is your traffic mainly coming from?Since you said about $30 rewards i guess its not tier 1 traffic.

$30 is the revenue generated from offerwalls, rewarded videos, and ads.

I can't comment on other sites and how they worked, but with the correct balance of rewarding users and revenue generators the prize pools can be covered effectively. The site hasn't been marketed and has only gathered users from reddit.

Since the app is available in the play store it actually can be used in adwords to purchase installs. I created a campaign yesterday and spent $25 on 1k clicks and 70 'installs' but didn't see an uptick in registrations. The majority of installs were from India. I'll have to think about how to use Google Adwords for installs efficiently.

Try to focus on 2/3 countires. Think about some nice texts and you should get more installs with less costs. My adword campaign with only one country it's getting good installs with low price per conversion.

I don't mind the CPI too much. But, out of ~100 installs there was little to no activity from them.

Revenue will come in at about $70 this month. Videos ads mostly, but affiliate offers, surveys, and crypto display ads are the other revenue generators. I'm going to also work on integrating a twitch revenue generator this week.

Development on the app continues and I've added several features to the game to enhance its replayability.

Revenue is increasing, April had ~$200 in revenue and May is on track to surpass April.

I'd like to focus on adding more pages and user stats to increase page views and advertising revenue. Soon I'll be looking to integrate sponsorships and direct ad sales.
