Many people who profit 1) got in early 2) luck 3) insider information. I suspect only a tiny % are skilled enough to trade independently and be profitable. My strategy is to look at low cap projects with actual use cases, but maybe it is better to assume irrationality and chase trends...

you gotta take the time to learn how to filter out the bad projects. Even then its still gambling at the end of the day

Hm I wouldn't say it is exactly equivalent to gambling, unless investing in stocks is also still gambling... which is a viable stance too. Providing you are actually researching legitimate projects with actual software/use case/purpose. Of course memcoins are definitely in the gambling category though.

Those insider trading groups are bullshit. Stop spreading misinformation here. Crypto is luck nothing else. The smartest thing you can do with it is to invest some in bitcoin and just hold. And even that doesnt guarantee anything.

Find a project of which you actually understand the fundamentals, keep a long term horizon when investing, seeking fast profits often leads to quick losses.
If you want my advice, just stick to BTC and ETH, if you hold on to a steady weekly (or monthly) DCA for the next 4-5 years you’re bound to make a good ROI.

A lot of it has to do with timing and luck. The only sure fire way to make money in crypto is doing let's just call it...shady stuff. You can look up Matt Cox Inside True Crime on YouTube and there are some videos in there about it if you search his channel for Crypto LOL
I have personally made big money in crypto and I have personally lost a lot. Like I said, a lot of it is luck, timing, what kind of market you are in and beyond that insider info.
It's an easy way to get rich if you're lucky but even easier way to get scammed and never see the light of day. Proceed with caution!
If you want a more "surefire" way of making money, invest in Bitcoin. No guarantee it won't go to zero, but all signs point to long term growth.

First,
Educate yourself, do your own research because you can only invest on the things you know. Follow the trend, so you will be updated with the current updates and trends.
Diversify your investment, do not put all your eggs in one basket, you will lose everything in a snap of a finger. Remember to invest in multiple to diversify it .
You can do long term holding (HODL), patience is a virtue remember? This long term investment, it may reduce the risk due to volatility.
Do consistent investment. Invest a consistent amount every now and then.
Always remember to do risk management of your investment. Set a specific budget for this, and use stop loss orders.

The simplest of simple way is
just shove it in BTC
wait for it to grow and withdraw for your profit
The concept is
Buy when it gets dumped when it's low
If you purchased at 49k when it got dumped on 4th August, if you sold now you would of made profit
No one is going tell you which alts to invest in
each dump = less money for everyone else
noone will be willing to share the cake
Nevertheless, BTC is usually considered a safe bet for crypto
