Creating a channel in big niche?

Hey,
i was kinda lurking on youtube past few days looking for some ideas for youtube channel.

And what got my attention was some minecraft channel with videos that started going viral 18 months ago - 1 or 2 videos out of 30.

Guy has now 150k subs and making something around 500k views per month, mostly *how to* video barely any personal branding.

And i wanted to ask what are ur thoughts on starting a channel in big niche like minecraft for example, it would obviously take a lot of effort and time to build something, but i'm just curious

What do we think about it? That it is not a goldmine but can definetely bring you money since it is big market.
BUT are you willing to make videos for 6-12 months OR even more without getting paid?
Are you willing to deal with copyright strikes that are flooding even legit videos?
Are you willing to make videos for hours and then edit for more?
Don't go into youtube thinking you will make thousands of ad revenue and not understanding how much effort it will take.
