Hi, When I first launched the campaign, the CPM increased abnormally even though the target file and content remained the same.
Is this a general trend of Facebook recently?
And what optimization strategies are people applying to reduce CPM while still maintaining traffic quality?
Looking forward to receiving everyone's perspectives and practical experiences!

nah, this happened a long time ago. Just facebook things. You can't expect the same results with the same ads on Facebook. There are always something wrong with it.

Ads auction depends on seasonality, competition, market budget + current ad quality bro. So many people running, pumping a lot of money into it, so high CPM is understandable.

Hey man, yeah CPM spikes like that are pretty common lately, even when you keep the same audience + creatives. FB’s auction gets weird during competitive weeks. What helped me bring CPM down a bit:
  • rotate 2–3 fresh creatives every few days
  • test broader targeting (FB optimizes faster)
  • run ads during off-peak hours
  • reduce overlap if you’re running multiple adsets
I also noticed warm audiences get expensive fast, so I refresh them often.
You tried testing a broader adset or new creatives yet?

Facebook's CPM often spikes when your audience gets fatigued or competition increases suddenly. Even with the same settings, other advertisers might have entered the auction, driving up costs.

To counter this, duplicate your ad set but change the optimization goal. If you were optimizing for conversions, switch to landing page views for 3-4 days, then switch back. This sometimes resets the auction algorithm and lowers CPM. Check your frequency score. If it's above 2.0, your audience is seeing the ad too often, increasing CPM. Create a lookalike audience based on recent purchasers (last 7 days) to find fresh users. This often reduces CPM because you're targeting a warmer, more responsive group.

I had the exact same thing happen last week—launched a fresh campaign, same audience file, same creatives, and CPM shot straight to $19 on day 1. Felt robbed lol. What fixed it for me: killed the narrow interests, went full broad + Advantage+, layered my warm retargeting on top, swapped everything to 10-12s hook videos, switched to lifetime budget with a loose cost cap, and just left it alone for 6 days. Frequency stayed under 3.5, creatives refreshed on day 8.By day 7 CPM settled at $8.20 and it’s still running there with better ROAS than before. Literally copy-paste this setup on every new campaign now and the spike basically never lasts more than a week.

Good luck!

This situation has been happening to quite a few people lately. You can try switching to Landing Page View and then changing it back to the original to help reset the bidding algorithm and reduce CPM.

Additionally, target warm audiences by creating Lookalikes from recent buyers, which often helps CPM decrease more stably.

Finally, remember to check the ad frequency and avoid running during peak hours, as both of these factors can cause CPM to spike sharply.

This is a common Facebook auction dynamic; to reduce CPM, systematically test broadening your audiences slightly, using Advantage+ shopping campaigns for automated optimization, and introducing fresh ad creatives frequently to combat audience fatigue and increased competition.

Yeah, CPMs have been up for everyone lately. Going broader, refreshing creatives, and fixing your CAPI usually brings it back down without killing traffic quality.

Yes sir , your suggestion is very good , I will try Ladipage to set up and see the result

You could try simplifying your campaign structure and resetting the learning phase for a few ad sets to let Facebook recalibrate delivery. Slightly broadening the audience and testing a few creative variations often helps stabilize CPM while keeping traffic quality strong.

Facebook's cost increases from time to time. Lately things are not going according to users' plans, the cost is very high.

I see the financial niche has very good results, but the campaign is easy to die and reject, CPM is also insignificant

At certain times, increased numbers of advertisers can increase bids.Facebook regularly updates its algorithm, which can affect how your ads are shown. If your ad's quality score drops, your CPM may increase. If your ad's quality score drops, your CPM may increase.

I see, sometimes CPM still increases abnormally

Yeah, CPM spikes have been pretty common lately. FB seems a bit unstable. Tweaking audience size and fresh creatives usually helps a bit, but still testing.

Have you tried with different campaigns and accounts, I found it ok CPM has dropped significantly
