Seems as all the bluetooth proximity post are old. With all the new features in the newest smartphones would it be possible to send a hyperlinked graphic that is linked to a CPA offer. Or in general would it be OK to use Bluetooth proximity ads for CPA offer. From all I have read it's permission based.

Bluetooth is permission based - the user must accept the request. Wifi hotspot, bluetooth advertising and good offers - sounds interesting.

I've got one of the bluetooth advertising machines and am trying to sell it. I've just not got access to loads of people who are standing around. It is only really of use in very busy areas where people are waiting and checking their phones.

    Tried Bluetooth Proximity Advertising.
    Results were very disappointing.
Also, iPhone & Blackberry are TOO smart to accept your average bluetooth request and are not compatable with most portable bluetooth proximity systems.
WIFI is the only way and that's not portable yet.

I've tried it to do thing a little more nasty. Basically, you may want to wait for ppl to have time in front of them.

The best way is in common ransport such bus, trains, metros and so on.

    Walking ppl isn't working :(

But it is very very interesting

Proximity Marketing to iPhone & Blackberyy has nothing to do with signal strength, range blah blah, its that Apple stripped down the Bluetooth capability by limiting the OBEX system. Go to ANY Bluetooth Proximity Marketing company and ask for a PORTABLE marketing device capable of pairing with iPhone & Blackberry, they are hard to find.
There are a few I think from textblue in the UK which has WIFI addition. My point is YOU NEED WIFI for iPhone, Blackberyy & Droid.
People are talking here of going out and spending cash$$ on these devices. You need a portable device (not one that plugs into the car) that is compatable with the majority of mobiles out there.

You can get apps that turn your Android phone into a wifi access point. These are used mostly so you can go online with your laptop, etc via your phone. Apps are also available to turn your phone into a web server. Now, if these 2 were combined in 1 app, that promised for example free internet browsing in return for completing a CPA offer, then you could sit in a busy park, train/bus station, etc for a few hours and earn!!

As abysse said above, people waiting on something get bored and play around with their phone. I do that myself, even check for open wifi hotspots so I can surf without using my data allowance!!

Some good ideas, locking a wifi password with a cpa content lock could be intresting, but its not going to make you much unless you can roll it out over a very wide area.
