You are absolutely incorrect. You and OP's product probably sucks, that's why no one is buying it, and there can be a few reasons for that. Beauty product sales are up since COVID because people want to look good at home for their spouses, and secondly, influencers and Instagram people are making a TONNE more content and need makeup to do so, who primarily target your audience on Instagram and TikTok. So in terms of are there people buying, you're wrong, people are buying, they're just not buying your product and probably for good reason.
Your ad/marketing strategy/targeting must absolutely suck too, if you're not using Insta/TikTok/Snap ads and influencer marketing to make sales, then once again, it's you that needs to get better, not the industry. That coupled with a probably expensive product and long shipping times (I assume you're dropshipping too) is why you are not making sales, so stop cherry-picking some random statistic about depression and anxiety and using it as an excuse for your lack of sales.
Thirdly people have stimulus money to spend, so your idea of that the 'young generation are poor, and don't buy makeup' can go in the trash with your product, you are comically wrong about this because many 18-24 year olds have more time going to school at home, working from home, and also receiving money from the government assuming you're targeting people from the US.
This isn't that difficult to prove either, go to Ulta, investor relations, pull up their last few earnings reports and you'll see that they've not had a y/oy decline in sales considering 90% of the country was on lockdown, go read about the Lipstick effect.
