Couple questions about Tier 2 links

Hey I have a couple of questions about Tier 2 links:

1. Is it important to blast Tier 1 links with Tier 2 links?
2. Which one would have better effect as a Tier 2, Scrapebox links, or Article Marketing Robot links?
3. Is there a certain number of links I should try to reach for for Tier 2 links?

1. Yes it is important, not just get them indexed but also to give tier 1 links extra juice and authority.
2. More effective AMR links because they are contextual. I would rather use both though to add even more diversity. As this is what we are after diversity. Different types of links, different domains, different anchors mix it up!
3. A certain number no, go for as many as you can. Of course for the quality over the amount though. It would be much better to use 10 unqiue article for linking rather than 1000 badly spun articles.

Anyone else have any input? Id love to hear more opinions
