This is something I thought about doing for my website which runs on WordPress. Two of my articles have 1000+ unapproved (99.9% spam) comments. It looks like all of them botted and spammed an entire list of websites or maybe I'm being attacked :(

Anyway, I turned a few spam comments into ones that sound authentic; removed the email, and URL posted by the spammers, and even changed names.

Should I stop doing this or is it okay? I noticed that I can also see their IP address

i am not sure the impact but great idea. looking to know the answer

I honestly didn't think of this but like Angel mentioned few of them might be viable

Appreciated, guys!

I think I'll get a couple of my writers to do that for their posts :D

Maybe, will have to give them higher privileges.

@https://www.blackhatworld.com/members/rahul-v-j.1115212/, we do that, too! We tell our VAs to do that during their idle time. :)

How many comments do you ideally approve per post for each of the following - bottom, middle, and top funnels?

Some spam comments are unusable. We only tweak the ones that won't require too much time on editing.

I've been doing this for over 10 years, lol. I change some of the verbiage too if it doesn't make sense, haha.

Looking nice, keep up the good work. Thank you!
