'Nothing' is actually very difficult to attain/describe. It seems the universe abhors the concept of nothing - if you take an area of space, remove all the particles, radiation and so on, you'll find that that space still weighs something. This is the product of virtual particles popping in and out of existence. It seems if you have nothing, you'll always have something.
