Comments is directly proportional to Algorithm?

comment's are part of youtube engagement. so it help you to gain views, but main factor is audiances watching retention. if your video has a massive amount of comments, but your viewers leave your video at its stating point. in that situation comments will not able to help your video to gain more views.

Comments can help, but I don't think more comments automatically means more reach. I'd pay more attention to whether people actually click and keep watching. Comments are more of a result of good engagement than a ranking factor by themselves.
