So, I make a close with a client, and she wants to promote her Udemy Course.

I say to her it's a bad idea, but her just don't care and want to keep what she wants.

Well, she wants to promote her course on Facebook and redirect the users to a Landing Page and then redirect for Udemy. I'm 99% sure it doesn't go to work very well...

It would work better if the cart page was on the landing page and not on Udemy.

Well, she pays good, and I'm going to do that work. But I never work with Udemy, it's possible to implant their cart on my landing page... put a pixel on Udemy?

If someone could give me some ideas to make this more workable I appreciate it.

Thanks.

You're probably both right. If you just wanted the best ROI for Facebook ads then, yes, you'd want it entirely on your own platform. It would give you more control over the testing, lose less traffic and you'd avoid their fees.

She's also got a point though, if there's enough demand for your client's niche then pushing traffic from Facebook over to Udemy will probably improve their organic reach on Udemy. They might lose a little money in the short term but get a better long term ROI from the free traffic.

I've never seen a Udemy checkout on a third-party site so you're probably stuck getting them to click through. I don't know if they'll let you put your own pixel but I'm fairly sure they run their own retargeting ads. They do have an affiliate program which is probably worth doing so you're getting a slightly better ROI for the traffic. I'd double-check that they allow you to promote your own course that way but it's probably fine.

You probably need to check whether udemy has an API or deep linking available.
