Hi all, I did some work for a client a while back and he said he was happy with it. Some time later I closed my paypal account as I didn't want to keep multiple accounts. Today I got a message from paypal saying that the client had opened a dispute with me and escalated it to paypal and I should respond within 10 days. I tried contacting him on FB but he has blocked me. How should I proceed?

If you have solid proof that you sent the traffic, you met your obligtions and there was no guarantee of clicks/earnings that would help.
It's difficult though with these types of cases as PP are known for just issuing refunds.

Your other option ( not really advisable ) is ignore PP if you have closed the account, as the amount might not be high enough value to pursue you further, that being the case they could hit your credit rating etc.

The problem is that is unlikely that PayPal will accept any delivery proofs for such service. Bitcoin is your friend guys.

I don;t think, there much to bother over here, since the account is already closed. But, there is no harm in sending over all the proof.

I live in a country where credit rating does not really matter as much as other countries like the US.

PayPal honestly won't give two turtle shits about what happened really. You'll send whatever you got, logs, etc, but more times than not they will rule in favor of the buyer. ESPECIALLY when it's a digital service.

Best of luck my friend, but prob best to just close the account and never look back or eat the loss. Sadly, it's the world we live in as digital service providers using PayPal as a payment processor.

The account is already closed. What do you recommend as an alternative to paypal? Anything apart from Bitcoin?

Ah, that's right. Well yeah then just say F it and move on.

In regards to payment processors, I honestly don't know much. I live in the USA, have a PayPal, and use it with no intention of it getting closed or anything, so I pretty much just use that. You can look into Escrow services but be careful, lots of scams. Some people say Western Union or MoneyGram, but I know me personally, I always think it's a scam if someone even brings up using those. So yeah, long story short, I don't. Sorry man.

Just out of curiosity, if he wins the case then will paypal reimburse him or will they tell him that they are waiting to get funds from me to refund him? I have heard both senarios.

Hard to say, they might take the hit.

What about direct bank payments, customers signs for xxx months of service, they pay direct to your bank.
In the UK they operat Standing Orders or Direct Debits, I guess the other way os invocie the client, then payment up front via Stripe or Worldpay ?

Just ensure what you're offering in your T&Cs is clear and water tight.

75% of the time PayPal just issue refunds as they care more about the buyer even though you've invested time and efforts. Submit evidence and cause a storm via the paypal support, too. The customer is a fraudster, if you can get history on him, provide that to paypal too!

In my experience, Paypal nearly always side with the client/purchaser and refund
