I have an unhappy client here who is asking me to refund him or he will ask PayPal for refund him. He is not satisfied with my work. I don't know what to do at this point. Should I just refund him his money or wait?

Any ideas BHW?

If its not that much, I'd probably refund the money and move on with my life.

Then take stock of the situation and try to figure out how to prevent it from happening again.

If it is a lot of money. Then I'd try to come to a compromise, maybe a partial refund. Try to do whatever I could to make the situation right.

But if that fails, guess I would just refund the money.

Refund is part of the business. You always have to deal with people like this do not risk your PayPal for an unhappy customer

If he ask paypal for refund , they will probably give him the money.

This is something I was worried about. If I refunded him would this risk my PayPal account?
Obviously him opening a dispute is a negative for my account.

Better deal with this refund yourself rather than waiting for paypal to step in - when planets are aligned in a certain way and they not like something they can limit your account out of nowhere.. :D

Chances yes since I am selling a virtual item. So pretty much that money is out of my pocket anyways haha

However if I do refund him does effect my account? I am trying to build a selling reputation on that account and this guy really pissed me off.

Yeah and I really don't want to risk my account. So doing the refund myself will keep my account safe.

Refund money and find new client. Don't risk your account.

Thanks guys for your replies, I ended up refunding them. Well they really were quit annoying and left no room for flexibility, when they didn't like what they recieved, I asked for more details they then demanded a refund and used the PayPal card. Well you get to deal with these idiots from time to time, but keeping your PayPal safe is more important.

Come to refund , use to ask others too. Yea I also refund back worst is he / she get FREE from me too .
I just pass .
so far only once encounter this , and i do hope will not encounter again

First mistake : You used GayPal to deal with your clients. GayPal is one of the worst thing to you can use when running any kind of business. I personally would sacrifice 30-40% of my clients but I would never use GayPal.

Seond Mistake : Not having a confidence in your own services. The fact that you had to ask strangers about this situation says that you are not confident in the quality of the service you provide. If you provide a quality, legitimate service, you would not have to ask this question in a blackhat forum. Instead you would have directly contacted GayPal customer service.

Don't hit the refund button if you're building your account reputation. In cases like this, instead of hitting a refund button - Copy the client email then send the exact amount + PayPal charges to cover your sender fee.

Yeah your right. When is still a risk of them trying to refund the original transaction aswell, making double their money?

I am selling a digital product, and yes PayPal is not ideal for this. Do you have an alternative? I am all ears.

If I did contact customer service, what would they do as they always side with the buyer for digital goods.

I would actually make my clients pay only half by upfront and list a point on TOS that half of the payments are to be made upfront and rest after complete satisfaction of the customer. In addition to that, if the customer is dissatisfied, any sort of files or services wouldn't be fulfilled and s/he should not pay the remaining half of the amount.
I literally have saved myself hundreds of time doing this because I mostly consider the first half of money which is to be made upfront as money paid for my time.

Great idea, but if the client decided to go full ahole can't they just do a dispute and get that money aswell?

Not really. Because like I said above, you'll need to include those on TOS and upon purchasing your product or service, a client always would automatically be agreeing to your TOS.
