Yeah, earning has been really hard nowadays. Dont give up people !
IMHO CB is not working as much, poor quality products = less sales.
That said it s like every product, the more value it brings, the better the sales and so on...
I m looking carefully at the margins, and i see it s really low...earning 0.02 / click, come on, you d better work for GLG or FB, with more options... Big getting bigger (not to say huge) small becomes smaller, just my opinion...
So I would prefer to spend time energy creating one of those products THAT BELONGS TO ME and selling those IN DIRECT than waiting to become rich with .02$ / hop.

CB feels useless to me right now, doesn't mean it will be useless to those who have the right traffic. A couple of years ago I did well using what I know outside of IM and applying it to one of their products. I didn't get rich but I basically set up a site, let it sit and brought in some decent throw around money without doing any more work for 2-3 years.
But I knew the company itself had in house problems. They eventually took the product down, revamped their site (and price) and instead of $25 commissions a few times a week, I'm getting $2 the odd time it actually sells. It would be bad if the product was in demand but it's not and will be obsolete within that demographic soon. Unfortunately for me it was my first venture into IM and the site is very branded to that product, so it would be weird switching it up now. Most of what I see on CB is so dated now, it would be an uphill battle for MY traffic.
That said, if you find the right target market, doesn't matter how shitty it looks. Like lancis said, some people still fall for infomercial quality because they're so used to it.

I am considering using Clickbank to sell a product / service. I would offer good recurring commission at 50% - 75%
But there are two things that I don't like:
1. The niche for my product appears very saturated on clickbank. Looking at the competition my product offers much more value, however I don't see how it will stand out and be visible for affiliates when there are so many similar products in the niche.
2. I don't like the mandatory clickbank checkout form. Yes it includes paypal but it is lacking something and would effect conversions.

kinda funny.. i've been thinking about getting back into affiliate marketing so I went to cb the other day... WOW has it changed since the last time I promoted products. CB used to be THE spot to launch a internet marketing, home based business, make money online product.
From what I can tell they are a shell from what they used to be.. an empty husk.
Can say tho - they used to throw a wicked party back in the day. Got invited to one of their vip vegas parties back in.. hmmm.. 2011.. was a great time.

Clickbank is my third attempt at IM, and the first one to bring money. I feel like it's my thing, finally.
Sure, CB may be harder than it used to be, but the same can be said about virtually everything online, and even offline. There's more and more people starting to do the same as you do, so of course it gets harder. Same with SEO, same with Youtube. Same with offline life, there's fewer jobs because of university diploma inflation (everybody has it = worthless) etc. Competition, that is. The only way to get to somewhere is to be better.

There are more people alive now than there have been throughout the entirety of human history and they're better educated than ever. There are people with incentive, smarts and agency who have no opportunity who sit at home all day thinking of ways to make money, so with the internet so swamped with ads of course these people are going to come to the conclusion to try the same thing you are. There's also the problem of automation and rich idiots trying to slash workers wages and welfare because ner ner, I've got all the money, even though these people are their market.
The silver lining to all of this though is that there have never been so many people browsing the internet, and as more countries are brought online new markets open up. Sure people are fatigued from the "YOU'VE GOT JUST 15 MINUTES TO CLAIM!" gimmicks which have been done to death in the last twenty years, but it's about time really. The uncomfortable truth is that the days of selling garbage for thousands is over. It's a shame because I missed out on it messing around, milking my youth with debauchery, but YOLO, something new always comes around.

I'm currently having success with clickbank. All I'm doing to make my sales is using bing ads and a little google organic. 
So promoting clickbank products is definitely a great way to make an additional income online.

I am a vendor and affiliate on Clickbank. ClickBank is only as good or bad as the person doing the marketing is. Some people will never make a dime from it, others are sucking in cash like a nuclear powered vacuum cleaner, and living luxurious lifestyles.
I think where some people go wrong is believing that making money online is quick and easy, when actually it takes a lot of time and effort. The blackhat affiliate guys on here who are earning big bucks, will have spent years mastering their craft.
