Chat gpt is driving me crazy

I truly understand what you meant, human input includes fails, success and mistakes to avoid and AI content is just a straight forward path that any one can follow, I don not find AI content bad as long as it make sence but also you should not just copy and paste and on that AI content that was generated you should incluide personal experiences, configurations, steps, more details about it and what happen is that AI will never write with pasion success or sadness because you have not reached you goal yet, people believe that using AI will make them smart but if you do not ask the correct question or don not know about the topic you are researching you will get average questions, the true power of using AI is based on the knowledge of who is asking, unfortunately there is always people that will use the easy wayand jut copy and paste a generic response that is useless.

Specifically online on forums and social media.

I have read so much Chat gpt content that it is oddly quick I can tell im reading something written by it.

The flood of accounts using chat gpt to write responses to people questions is killing me

I dont think it helps anyone when you ask a question looking for human input

and get some guy or bot that just copy-pastes the most useless chat gpt answer which barely answers the question

and did nothing but explain the original question.

I hate it so much, I see something I think is gonna be useful.. I read the first 6 words and already have a feeling it is

GPT, I check the account and its some practically brand new account pasting useless surface level

information all over the forum or social media.

It kills me to see posts explaining what SEO is (not even in a useful way) ...... in a place filled with SEOs

Maybe this is my curse for using gpt content in my own things but it kills me when you want honest human

answers and experiences just to get some guy hitting you with a:

To get backlinks for SEO, create valuable content, reach out to relevant websites, guest blog, and participate in online communities. Prioritize authoritative and relevant sources for maximum impact on your website's visibility.

like everyone and their mother doesn't know this, even the worse seo could have said just as much.

Maybe it is just in my head, I but I do know it is going on because even plugging their comments into

AI detectors you can clearly see 90% of the stuff they say is generated.

I was on a forum for mechanics......... kept seeing posts from AI accounts defining what mechanics do................. in a place filled with mechanics

like geez, thanks, im sure the dude who has been fixing vehicles for 20 years appreciated learning what a mechanic was.
I'm an engineer too and it would bother me to see A.I. responses in a group for engineers.

Hello @Jaordas! While AI may seem daunting at first, it's important to remember that it's designed to make our lives easier and more efficient. Think of it as a tool that can help us achieve our goals, rather than something to fear. And while AI is becoming more prevalent in our daily lives, it's important to remember that it's still just a machine - it lacks the creativity, empathy, and intuition that make humans so unique. So take comfort in the fact that you are still the one in control, and that AI is simply a tool that can assist you in your endeavors. With a little patience and practice, you'll soon find that AI can be a powerful ally in achieving your goals.

Sincerely, Cha.... Bob. My name is Bob.

Ok, but seriously - I get what you mean and I agree - it's called "social" media for a reason and seems paradoxical to use AI at all, but I suppose there's always a reason. Why do people bot/automate all other social media platforms? In here, it's really low effort to do so, but it isn't going to stop anywhere either. What we will see is overall quality bounce around, for awhile until people settle into their comfort zone. I mean, we've already seen it to an extent with bots, comments, likes, etc already on every platform possible. People will just become numb to it... "oh look another comment that doesn't make sense" to "oh look another ai comment in here". What I imagine is moderators on whatever platform taking more preemptive action against potential AI spam/activities just as they have with autofollowing/autocommenting/autoposting etc.... Until then, it's just growing pains. As @WPRipper said - AI anxiety; and with that also - AI dependency.

We lowkey already have this though. Just buy any FB account from vietnam or philippines and look at the chat history lol. It's all just bot accounts sending each other "hi" and "<3" every week or so, to build rep in a FB account farm.

Also, what if we thought of it this way:
What if the mass spam of AI content that will inevitably clog the internet - will devalue internet reactions and conversely add value to in person interactions? Think of forums going in-person. Therefore everyone speaks to each other in real life. I think that could be one positive outcome of this pandora's box.
I cant see it going so far as internet is so integrated in society, unfortunately im young so most my life has known Internet and already accepting things like forums as human interaction, now we are having AI invade the human spaces, it feels no different to me than if we met in public, and were discussing a serious topic, then some robot not good enough to fully fool us yet, rolls over and tries to join the conversation. No matter what it really said, you feel no need to respond to it as you know, not a single thought came behind the words.

Like would you go asking the AI commenters on the FB accounts why they keep commenting the same thing? No, even if they have gpt and can give you an answer, it means very little if it is not from a human.
it's 75% edge and 25% hard work.
Not too long ago, the edge, USED to be hard work as far as text content production, and soon video content production.

You know something im just realizing, all those youtube animators who were mid at best as artist really cant match what AI video might be able to do in a few years.

People built their whole channel on story telling with their drawings and that used to be considered something people cant take from you.

I know comodity content has been a thing for a while, and whole businesses existed to outsource youtube animations.

But when AI animations get good enough and fast enough to make that humans dont mind watching them, then the content flood will happen their too.

I hardly care if I was watching a retelling of a war story, if they used AI to animate scenes of stories, it is better than words alone, maybe im alone in that

but sooner or later im sure people will get used to it there aswell.

In the end, as you said, Adapt, Adapt Adapt

but it is really eye opening seeing all the things I never thought about getting disrupted.

Damn near 25% of the Youtube thumbnails I see these days are AI generated (human aided)

I know this is because of the content I follow, but dang that was fast.

Yes, even as they try to look human by adding grammar errors etc, you can tell their is no soul behind the words.
I'm an engineer too and it would bother me to see A.I. responses in a group for engineers.
Day by day in the SEO space I find it more annoying now, it is like a group of thousands of google bots have been deployed who are so hell bent on remind SEOs...................... that SEO is Search Engine Optimization, which is the practice of optimizing website content to improve its visibility and ranking on search engine results pages, thereby increasing organic (non-paid) web traffic and user engagement.
And here it goes, a new health issue: AI anxiety.
I miss the days when it was just crazy people talking about Skynet already being here.

You know, I feel you with the fake likes and comment, I feel like it is striking more nerves to me now because they "almost" make sense.

back when easy to use publicly available bots werent around you can tell a response is botted so fast that it didnt have much worth and you can tell them apart faster as you couldnt make them do complicated responses.

Now, they can ALMOST do complicated responses and try, so instead of seeing comments like. "this is so beautiful" 1000 times, you see hundreads of more or less unique comments, but all of them are as souless as 2015 "I love this image so much" bot comments for engagement.

Yesterday I saw a post about how people can bot twitter arguements now, and worse of all, bots argue with other bots. You can set a timer to prevent them from insta responding, but you can practically see endless arguements between bots on some peoples posts.

Something hella dystopian about that alone, and as long as they are hooked up to money, every 24 hrs they will drop a response back, for the rest of eternity if the people who turned them on, dont turn them off, or they dont get reported.

Tldr, it is hurting me now because it is harder to tell, but still obvious once you dig deeper.

yea I dont think its going to change anytime soon just have to wait for ai content to get better so you wont notice it. I do find it kind of funny when you can read a few lines and clearly tell its ai written.

Bro, it is going on here aswell, and thats why im going crazy aswell. It is why I bring up the examples for SEO,
I dont wanna call people out but im sure im not the only one noticing all these useless comments generated that
dont even address the actual question a poster asks.
hahaha it's the acounts trying to build up post count on forums, most likely.

I completely understand your frustration. The increasing presence of Chat GPT-generated content on forums and social media is indeed becoming overwhelming. It's disheartening when you seek genuine human input and end up receiving generic responses that barely address your question. I share your disappointment in encountering new accounts that seem to only paste superficial information without adding any real value to the discussions.

Seeing posts explaining basic concepts like SEO in a community already well-versed in the subject is truly discouraging. It's as if we're bombarded with redundant information that offers no insights or depth. It's understandable that you feel let down when seeking authentic human experiences and instead come across formulaic answers like the one you mentioned about backlinks and SEO.

While some might argue it's just a figment of our imagination, there is evidence to support the prevalence of AI-generated comments. Plugging their responses into AI detectors reveals that a significant portion of their content is indeed generated. It's disconcerting to witness AI accounts defining what mechanics do on a forum dedicated to mechanics themselves. It undermines the expertise and experience of those who have been working in the field for years.

Hopefully, as users, we can collectively voice our concerns about this issue and encourage platforms to implement better measures to ensure genuine human interactions. The true value of online communities lies in the exchange of personal experiences, insights, and expertise. Let's strive for a balance where AI can be useful without overshadowing the authentic contributions of individuals who truly understand the topics at hand.

p.s - it's a joke

I completely understand your frustration. It's a legitimate concern that the use of AI, like GPT-4, on social platforms can sometimes result in content that feels impersonal, generic, or superficial. This is especially true when the content does not match the needs or knowledge level of the intended audience, like in the examples you provided.

A key value of social platforms and forums is the opportunity for individuals to share personalized experiences, advice, and perspectives, which can be lost when AI-generated responses dominate the conversation.

The advancement of AI does have potential benefits, such as providing immediate responses, or assisting with the generation of content, but it is important that these tools are used responsibly and effectively. This would involve ensuring AI-generated content is appropriate to the context, and doesn't replace the genuine human interaction that is often sought in these spaces.

I thought about this, but I think they will likely look for ways to weight human information. However at some point we might not even know what human information is.
Many of us are so happy for ease on our writing work that even human work might just become "AI with human edited " work.
I hope it doesnt begin having so much effect on our culture that kids and us grow up speaking like language models. We are very good at imitating things.

I miss it just not being there, when regular gpt was out I was worried but its like now it is so main stream im starting to see people trying to find the best ways to be annoying with it.
The movie Idiocracy is a masterpiece, the world will get there eventually

I don't really mean that the internet will go in person - I think people would begin to prefer speaking in person - avoid possibility of AI. Is this what you thought I meant?

Imagine a world where AI can reason like humans, with souls and conscience. Might not be possible but just an imagination

It is hard not the feel threatened by these ideas. The dumbest AI will know more than the smartest human. We are building out own slave masters if we don't prevent them from reaching a point where we start thinking they have a soul etc.

Know more, do what normally takes hours within few seconds and creating a strong connection together. I know it's going to be worse than this
