Chat gpt is driving me crazy

Specifically online on forums and social media.

I have read so much Chat gpt content that it is oddly quick I can tell im reading something written by it.

The flood of accounts using chat gpt to write responses to people questions is killing me

I dont think it helps anyone when you ask a question looking for human input

and get some guy or bot that just copy-pastes the most useless chat gpt answer which barely answers the question

and did nothing but explain the original question.

I hate it so much, I see something I think is gonna be useful.. I read the first 6 words and already have a feeling it is

GPT, I check the account and its some practically brand new account pasting useless surface level

information all over the forum or social media.

It kills me to see posts explaining what SEO is (not even in a useful way) ...... in a place filled with SEOs

Maybe this is my curse for using gpt content in my own things but it kills me when you want honest human

answers and experiences just to get some guy hitting you with a:

To get backlinks for SEO, create valuable content, reach out to relevant websites, guest blog, and participate in online communities. Prioritize authoritative and relevant sources for maximum impact on your website's visibility.

like everyone and their mother doesn't know this, even the worse seo could have said just as much.

Maybe it is just in my head, I but I do know it is going on because even plugging their comments into

AI detectors you can clearly see 90% of the stuff they say is generated.

I was on a forum for mechanics......... kept seeing posts from AI accounts defining what mechanics do................. in a place filled with mechanics

like geez, thanks, im sure the dude who has been fixing vehicles for 20 years appreciated learning what a mechanic was.

I dont wanna call people out but im sure im not the only one noticing all these useless comments generated that

Tools are created to serve people, but they can become harmful if misused. To be effective at work, it's important to learn how to use them properly.

Adapt to what? learn to not read replies that I think are GPT?
It is hard when they even reply to my own posts as I try to respond and read everything
everyone tells me so I can provide them value
but then I run into stuff like that and regret I lost a few seconds of my life reading it

you see, with how cheap it is to produce text now, I dont even feel like that will solve my issues, I can produce enough
text to spam this forum to the ground with a single api key.
I hope we arent going to see a future of just bots talking to bots.

Once you recognize it's output pattern, you see it almost everywhere. I agree with you on that one lmao.

If Google can't stop AI spam completely, what makes you think you can do it? Plus, mods can't remove the post if it's useful, even though it is generated by AI. So, figure out which members talk from experience and skim through the posts to see if any one of them has a comment posted on the thread. I generally read threads like this now.

Mods are flagging some of these posts. I saw one flagged post. I am sure staff will not let this forum go downhill because of chatgpt.

Well, it's nice of them, but they can't do much about it. It's how I feel. Some members are writing long posts on every thread nowadays. You will see a pattern, but I have better things to do than figuring out if the member has made any changes in the ChatGPT output.

This is sad, and many do none of that because the account is fully automated, thats why occasionally you see a post slip through that starts off with "as an artificial intelligence language model, I cannot " because there is literally no human reading what is being posted on the accounts they let run.
I miss being like most other humans who could read a gpt article and only barely tell it is AI.

Exactly, it is so cheap to do this now too that even if all members on the platform banded together to report it is still possible for a single spiteful dude to go harder because it only cost pennys to make these accounts providing now value. I feel like im gonna need to start reading treads only following specific people I know are real and know what they are talking about.
Unhelpful AI spam is worse that the people who dont even read the beginning part of my post and then comment asking for information I literally already mentioned in the post itself. Just my opinion, id rather see people with no attention span to read asking me things ive already told 5 people in the same thread, than soul less AI.

I wonder if this can ever be stopped or if pandoras box is open forever, not even captcha for post can stop it, heck, we are on a forum where 30% of the people are probably using captcha bypasses, gsa etc.

It wouldnt be so much of a problem if they actually set it up right enough to answer the thread's questions properly, I do admit many people ask questions that is literally a google away in the snippet, but for some reason they think it is better to make a whole post.
(not that im judging, many times on valuable forums you will have random people give you the information you didnt even know you needed to hear, the type of stuff google isnt going to hand you if you dont already know what it is).
Like google can tell you what are black hat methods and list them but you will be hard-pressed to actually learn how to do it properly without speaking to real black hats.

I hate it specifically because most of the posts dont add value, if someone is asking about parasite SEO methods on BHW and looking for real-life expriences, then a bot account describing what parasite SEO means in the comments to someone who already knows and is asking for deeper knowledge is just annoying to constantly see. Imagine if people just went around posting screen shots of google serp surface level information to every thing you say..........

90% of the time Literally all the information you get from them is stuff you already know, its like a serp you cant click through on for social media.

It is so disappointing when you start reading something thinking there is a soul behind it but the further you get, you realize you just wasted your time reading an AI-generated opinion.

I thought about this, but I think they will likely look for ways to weight human information. However at some point we might not even know what human information is.
Many of us are so happy for ease on our writing work that even human work might just become "AI with human edited " work.
I hope it doesnt begin having so much effect on our culture that kids and us grow up speaking like language models. We are very good at imitating things.
