When I gave instructions to the writer, I requested for a keyword density of 0.5%. However, once I was on page 2, I kept playing around with it. I was at 11, I added my main keyword once, made it bold and forced a recrawl. In 5 mins, I was at 10. If this was an isolated incident, I would have assumed it was a coincidence. But I tried this several times and it jumped around each time I recrawled.

0.5 seems to be a good starting point but you can play around with it. The results seem to be almost instantaneous so it's easy to test different things.

Did you higher the kw density or lower? Also did you GWMT to recrawl it?

I kept increasing the number of times the keyword appeared until my ranking dropped.

I used the Lightspeed Indexer to recrawl.

Sorry but why is there a big chance you can get banned? I'm trying to follow your guide on ranking a CPA site

So, what do you think what kw density worked out the best for you?

I doubt it's a fixed value. Keep testing differing densities till your ranking starts to drop. Add the keyword once and see the change in ranking. Then add it another time and see the change. Keep doing this till your rankings start to drop.

It takes time but it's worth it in my opinion.

I find Yoast to be weird and inaccurate at times. Once everything is green, I use http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword-density/ to check for the density and then move things around till my ranking starts to fall. It takes some time but it's worth it even if your position improves by a couple of places.

Do you optimize the Readability section as well completely in Yoast? I find that my article read like garbage if I try to optimize every point in there.
 
No I don't. I try to keep it natural. If the keyword isn't grammatically correct, I use the grammatically correct version that contains stop words.

However, for CPA sites like this, nobody is going to read the content anyway. So you can do whatever you like. People are only interested in the download. The content is just for Google.

At least that's what I think.

i think better keep your webs organized so when u get ban u change link on your tier 1.

need a tool for that. of course these webs needs to have extreme big quality and amount backlink profile
 
Congrats on achieving your Goal, I Personally never worked with SEO, since I started IM I do always rely on other traffic sources other than the organic ones, It's a lack of patience maybe hhh, Now I want to start a journey ranking some easy KWs from Zlatan & BTB service, Wish me good luck !! :p
Btw, any updates on eanings now that you got the Page #1 ??

Thanks a lot.

There aren't any earnings as of now. My keywords are still bouncing around, probably because the PBN Links are kicking in.

The keywords are bouncing around between page 1 and page 2. The best position so far has been 10 but the keywords keep moving around.

It'll take a couple of weeks for everything to settle down and then I may have to build a couple of links to push the keywords up.

No this is a keyword I found myself. I keep researching keywords when I'm bored. LOL.

The keyword I got from Zlatan was very low comp. It ranked on it's own at #29 as soon as it indexed. A couple of PBN links should take it to page 1. I'm using that keyowrd on a different site with spun content from some movie review sites.

If you're looking to buy keywords, you can't go wrong with zlatan or hacko. Just hope that they have something in stock. All the best.
 
If someone stuck at position 10 for a keyword, how would you recommend them to boost up to the top 3 or 5? Preferably without PBN posts
 
I generally love PBN links so that's what I would do. But since you don't want PBN links, here are a few options you could try:

  • Build backlinks to existing backlinks to power them up. (@eatingMemory has a great service you can use for this)
  • Reach out to bloggers for Guest Posts (A lot are PBN sites so be careful)
  • Build links on platforms like rebelmouse, behance or something like that and then power them up with additional backlinks.
  • Try a PR with brand and naked URL anchors to the homepage. This can possibly give you a little boost if your keywords are easy.
  • If you're not ranking using your homepage, create a contextual link to your inner page from your homepage.
  • Create a few closely related posts for interlinking.
  • Play around with your main keyword density to see if it makes a differnce. Sometimes just adding or removing the keyword a couple of times can move you a couple of places.
  • If you feel that your anchors could be over optimised, try a diversity package wihout any keyword anchors.

I'm sure there are several other things you can do. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in and help you out.
