Background:
After doing some reverse engineering on some of the massive amount of spam comments I get on some of blogs get, I decided to try one of the tactics myself.
Case Study info:
I will use Scrapebox to spam posts with affiliate links. All affiliate links will be shortened with bit.ly or similar service.
Most of the spam post I receive seems to directed to the webmaster of the blog. Now that somehow makes great sense since some webmaster will check they comments before deciding if its spam or not. If the message is clear and crisp a few webmasters might actually click my link
So goal is to spam with different crisp post that will include an affiliate link to a webmaster related product.
I will use Scrapebox on an 100mbit line connected via a paid vpn service.
All harvesting and posting will be done with proxies I scraped myself.
I will update the thread when appropriate
First days runs:
I did 3 runs today.
1. Run: 100 proxies, harvested 10k blogs and successfully posted to 4k.
2. Run: 150 proxies, harvested 20k blogs and successfully posted to 12k.
2. Run: 280 proxies, harvested 55k blogs and successfully posted to 18k.
Number of harvested blogs is after removing duplicated domains.
First day successfully posted to 34k blogs. I release that most posts will never go live, but that doesn't matter since I targeting the webmaster behind the blog.
Rationale:
Somehow I really doubt anything useful will come out of this. With the current large amount of spam most blogs get, I really much doubt anyone is reading any of the spam comments to decide whether they should be approved or not.
I guess if I'm somehow lucky I might have a sale or 2 but nothing worth the trouble.
But since its a case study I will put some work into it.
