Background:
After doing some reverse engineering on some of the massive amount of spam comments I get on some of blogs get, I decided to try one of the tactics myself.

Case Study info:
I will use Scrapebox to spam posts with affiliate links. All affiliate links will be shortened with bit.ly or similar service.

Most of the spam post I receive seems to directed to the webmaster of the blog. Now that somehow makes great sense since some webmaster will check they comments before deciding if its spam or not. If the message is clear and crisp a few webmasters might actually click my link

So goal is to spam with different crisp post that will include an affiliate link to a webmaster related product.

I will use Scrapebox on an 100mbit line connected via a paid vpn service.
All harvesting and posting will be done with proxies I scraped myself.

I will update the thread when appropriate

First days runs:
I did 3 runs today.

1. Run: 100 proxies, harvested 10k blogs and successfully posted to 4k.
2. Run: 150 proxies, harvested 20k blogs and successfully posted to 12k.
2. Run: 280 proxies, harvested 55k blogs and successfully posted to 18k.

Number of harvested blogs is after removing duplicated domains.

First day successfully posted to 34k blogs. I release that most posts will never go live, but that doesn't matter since I targeting the webmaster behind the blog.

Rationale:
Somehow I really doubt anything useful will come out of this. With the current large amount of spam most blogs get, I really much doubt anyone is reading any of the spam comments to decide whether they should be approved or not.

I guess if I'm somehow lucky I might have a sale or 2 but nothing worth the trouble.
But since its a case study I will put some work into it.

subscribed :D

looks guite new method love to see the results :)

Best of luck. Could your method benefit from yt comments at all?

Not really, this is a pure case study on the effectiveness of blog spam.

First of all it will be interesting to see how many will actually click on the affiliate link (shortned)

Current stats on day 1

1 link marked as spam an already shown on various spam detection pages.
That link is also shown on a few blogs when searching
Used G to search for the link

20 clicks, no sale.

Not really many clicks considering it was successful posted to 34k blogs

Well, maybe you should post on some specific niche so you can increase the clicks.
Also, like you said in your first post, all the wordpress sites are spamed daily so probably the webmasters are just ignoring the links.

Anyway, nice experiment. I will subscribe to your thread.

Last few days i am getting so much spam of gscraper. At least i go there and then make it spam. So i think you will get some good click if the webmaster read but about sell i am not sure. Subscribing to see it :)

Interesting thread would like to see how this ends *subscribed*

Hello my friend good to see that you have taken some action BUT
this is an old method that was KILLED by Blackhat world users
18 month / 2 years ago..

we were comment spamming direct to the webmaster saying

"Hey I found this great SEO plugin that will help you to get traffic check it out "Aff link to SEO Pressor"

They guy who shared the method made $200 in a day BUT he Sheared it here So everyone was doing it
untill every comment people got on their sites was from someone using this method.

HA HA! This is like starting to enjoy a movie with your mates then the village "Einstein" pokes his head through the door and tell you the ending.

I tried this in the past and got about 100 hops through bit.ly but no sales.

Hah, I did this exact thing a couple years ago. I got 1 sale out of about 60 hops.

I won't be using clickbank like others, those products are garbage for something like this.

Yea I know about the seo plugin spamming that was done around that time
One of my blogs which is quite old, already got spam like this a few years back.

I twisted my message and product a bit to try go get more clicks

Anyway that's why this is a study instead of get rich quick post ;-)

Day 3 update
All 5 links marked as spam on various spam detection pages.

1. Day 29 clicks
2. Day 10 click
3. Day 4 click
Current day so far 7 clicks

Total so far 50 clicks.

G showing 22 backlinks so far
(Later I might do some stats, based on live comments vs posted just for the fun on it)

Number crunching:
After 3 days
34k comments / 50 clicks = 1 click per 680 comment
Zero sale (no surprise there)

Conclusion:
Yeah well no surprise here really.. anyway..

No reason to continue posting with current setup as I doubt I will see any changes to the click ratio.

Will twist the angel to a much more eye catching idea I got and rerun the testing again, this might bring up the click ratio quite a lot and perhaps even make a few bucks

I will continue to monitor first trial ofcuz ;-)

What have been the results of this after a few weeks then?

Cheers

Interesting case study. Really novel idea. However, you shouldn't have stopped after just a few days. At least should have continued for 14-20 days or so.

More ideas - promote a free ebook or something to build list instead of trying to sell something upfront.
Second idea - instead of trying to sell high prices clickbank products, try promoting WSO offers which are priced very low (many of them less than $10) and most WSO's have awesome salespages. So, its worth a try.
