Hi, as topic states it im looking to understand what to do.

I have a landing page on domain.com, this page is built on carrd.
Now I want to write blog, carrd is not suited for that.

I set up blog.domain.com and installed WP on it.

Now this sparked interest in SEO and I'm not sure, how this setup could effect my website now and down the road?

I am looking to rank the blog and drive traffic to landing page that has a offer on it.

Move from carrd to wp of your main site, I prefer wp than the carrd.
You can use lots of SEO plugin to improve your site.

I would suggest to copy/clone the carrd website design on WordPress and use it like a normal WordPress website with a blog.
Choose a modern block theme or a lightweight theme like generatepress, neve, astra, kadence.

eh, I did want to avoid rebuilding the landing page haha. Might swap around and have blog on main domain and landing on a sub.

Could I suffer any SEO challanges if I don't make the swap right away but lets say after 1 month or 5-6 posts+some backlinks?

Sure you can suffer SEO challenges by doing this. You will be indexing and backlinking articles that will be moving in a month.

You'll lose a lot of your efforts by having to duplicate your work (re-posting and fixing backlinks). On top of that you'll have to contend with re-indexing.
