Canonical always messed up...

at first it was fine,, whenever I change canonical on my mainsite, it will be indexed after few hours ...
but since February I don't know why the canonical is always wrong...
My new canonical link is always marked as duplicate in GSC,
Google is now showing up random dead old link on top..
Hello to the downfall of my traffics...
seriously, we don't change anything on page except canonical ref,
what happens? Has anyone experienced this stuff?

it sounds like there might be an issue in your canonical tag causing duplicate content problem review your canonical and make sure it is pointing to the correct version of your webpage. also check for any recent changes or errors in your site CMS that could also affect indexing.

It's is the correct version, still not solved yet, it happens to some of my friends.. not sure if it's our fault or google being broken again..

Can you share the page source code at least? Or setting that you used for canonical

Difficult to pun point if we have no idea what's going on

Can we see the codes its hard to comment without seeing it i have had problems with canonical before
