I had a domain with Android in it.
Google took it from me after about 4 or 5 months.

No and yes. Depends on what you do with that domain and how the full domain name will look like. If it doesn't make reference to the OS, you can use it, but be carefull that domain registrars have a listed on branded words, and you won't get the domain registered, or even suspended if you manage to. You can buy a domain name with "android" in it, and make reference to the robot.

I used to have one for over a year with no problems at all, also there are many big websites with the word android in their domain names check this one for example :
