I wanted to start a blog which has been long due. I know that it takes time for us to really earn from it. However, I wonder if in today's world in which vlogging is more common, can we still earn great from writing blogs?

Blogging is very hard now but you can still earn money if you do keyword research right. If you go for competing keywords, there is almost no chance to rank at all .

Its not easy like before, you can still earn but it will take time and good niche.

Absolutely, you can still incredibly make money from blogging. The main thing is content in blogging, you just have to focus on creating valuable content.

You can make a few $ per month from blogging... and this is when your website is actually successful :)
5000 unique visitors per month will bring you about 10$ a month from google ads... depending on a niche

so yeah you can make "a lot of money"!

Yes, but also, promoting your blog. Creating content is actually the easiest thing to do. The actual work and a also a problem is getting enough traffic. We're talking about a couple of thousands per day or else you'll be earning peanuts.

I wish the answer I am about to give you was more optimistic.

But the big trend that I am seeing that a lot of people either refuse to see or simply are ignorant about is what I would call the SEO Apocalypse.

I don't mean to be dramatic but when ChatGPT became really popular, it started a shift in consumer expectations regarding what online search results should look like.

You have to understand that the current model that we're in involves search engines like Google spitting out a list of links.

It's up to you to click through the links to find the right answer.

This kind of absolves Google of the responsibility of coming up with one key answer for your query because different people look for the same information in different ways.

We have different ways of expressing ourselves because we look at the world differently.

The current model accommodates all that difference because the search results can appeal to different people in different ways.

That's all fine and well up until it no longer works.

I'm afraid that the rise of AI search, with its emphasis on one result, will do away with the current search link lists model.

Of course, the biggest loser to all of this is Google.

Since the more results are on the page, the more ad opportunities there are for Google.

They're staring down the barrel of a shotgun when it comes to lost revenue.

It's not just the online publishers like ourselves that stand to lose out.

The biggest loser of course is Google.

I suspect that Google is fighting tooth and claw to hold off the inevitable, which is the total consumption shift to an assumption and expectation that there should only be one result.

So if you're thinking of getting into blogging now, there may still be a few years of profitability.

Gartner Consulting has predicted that traffic volumes will start to decline quite a bit up until 2028 where they predict that global search volume will decline by half.

It's anybody's guess what it will look like after that point.

My point here is that you need to come up with a future-proof business, and I'm not all that sure that blogging is it.

It probably still has a few good years left, but if you're looking for a business that will continue to produce money long into the future or maybe a business that you can pass on or sell off, this might not be it.

The good news? The Bright spot in all this? I don't see LOCAL BUSINESS SEARCH RESLTS going away anytime soon... just typical BROAD INFO or NON-LOCALIZED INFO SEARCHES

I think blogs are traditionally a good tool to promote your business. That's because there are many people who like writing. I am skeptical about Google AdSense.

You Can Still earn great from writing blogs?

Many People Earning from blogging.

You Just need to traffic to start earning.

Of course it's possible, man

Plenty people still making money with blogging. I wouldn't rely on Google alone for traffic though! As long as you diversify your traffic sources blogging is as good as it ever was. I know plenty of people doing great driving traffic from Pinterest, Youtube and other social media sites etc. even after their SEO traffic was decimated by Google. And if you're in the right niche, build a list of email subscribers that you can market to. I waited way too long to do this.

absolutely,if you plan to get traffic from seo my advice is to niche down as much as possible in the beginning and target lots of 0 search volume keywords to gain topical authority and some initial easy traffic
