I wanted to start a blog which has been long due. I know that it takes time for us to really earn from it. However, I wonder if in today's world in which vlogging is more common, can we still earn great from writing blogs?

Yes and yes.
Reason is, just like how some people prefer to have their things done via a video/podcast or just audio so they can do other things while listening to it.
There are also many who prefer the other way around. Instead of needing to dig through hours of videos (sped up even if there no timestamps) just to find out that few points you need, text on paper provides a quick and easy Ctrl+F option.
By no means blogging is easy but you can still make money.

While it's not easy to make money from blogging, it's possible. There are a number of ways to monetize your blog, such as through advertising, affiliate marketing, and selling products or services.

Yes, people still earn good money on blogging. You can do it too.

Yes, You can try to Write a Blog and Start Blogging. Because Some SEO Companies Need Natural Backlinks, they look For Good Matrics Blogs for Link Building. They are Spend Some Money for Link Building Services. I think you will get a good Amount Earned and teach well.

You can still make money from pretty much everything. the only difference is thing get harder with time as more people learn about the "method" blogging has been around a long time so there are many skilled people doing blogs. It will be hard but yes you can still make money.

Yes, you can still earn from blogging.

Social media has made it so it’s possible to reach many people from any given niche with some effort.

Create your blog and create shorts, reels, TikToks, and YouTube videos about every blog post you make.

Put forth real effort and you will succeed.

Yes, you may by being passionate. Blogging does not provide quick income.

Yes. You can earn from blogging. But you need to be very patient while blogging.

Yes, but damn you would have to be interesting. Most people today check IG/TikTok/YT for entertainment, back when blogging was popular these weren't really around, and that's why blogs were popular. It's almost dead in 2024 unless you find the right niche and can build traffic. If you're starting from 0 with no knowledge, I wouldn't, unless you're passionate about what you will be writing about and you do it as a hobby.

Blogging is just the beginning. The hard part will be to get an audience, cos' you need a big one to make money in 2024. Think at least 100.000 visitors a month.

This is true. There's already a lot of entertainment platforms out there which makes blogs less interesting. Most people nowadays prefers watching over reading.

You can still do it, it all dpends in your strategy, niche you will be working on and effort you put on it, so make your plan, prep and start getting those sweet ideas.

Blogging is dead, long life autoblogging! GPT-5 is expected to be here in 7 months and there will be no place for human bloggers anymore...

I think as long as you're doing things right - quality content, seo, active on socials, etc - and give the blog some time, it'll start getting traffic, and then you can either run ads or do affiliates.

There is so much into growing a website, and writing content and seo are related but complex in their own ways.

I suggest using some seo software like RankMath (if you're on wordpress) or SurferSEO so you know how "optimized" your content is according to the metrics set by the respective tools. Usually keyword density is important, and be sure to naturally incorporate keywords.

Then there's user search intent. If the user wants a listicle like "5 best places to travel", and your blog is about "how to find a safe travel site", then it won't match the intent, and you should change the focus keyword or rewrite the blog.

For SEO, you'd need to optimize the site to make it HTTPS (secure) and load fast (like compressing images). Try submitting your blog to blog directories to get backlinks. You can also use HARO or outreach to similar but noncompetitive sites to convince the owner to place a backlink to your site. Guest posting is an option as well.

I suppose people prefer videos over a wall of text, but going viral on youtube, instagram, etc is still tricky and the underlying principles are the same. Also, to make your blog more interesting, use simple words, short sentences/paragraphs, and add images here and there. Mid Journey can generate pretty decent images.

This is just a brief overview. You should learn SEO and be consistent and patient.

Totally depends on your source of traffic. If its SEO, I would strongly advice against it.

And tbh, traditional blogging would be on of the worst ways to earn money nowdays. Unless you have a specific strategy, for specific audience, and providing them some real value they would pay for it, I would say search for something else

Alright. May I know why you're against it if traffic source is SEO?

And yes, I agree with you. Blogging nowadays doesn't look much promising and might have a not-so-good future ahead.
