I'm making a free plugin for WordPress and I'm thinking on how to utilize social media to promote it. So my question is, can I put a Facebook and Google+ share buttons on my plugin settings page with the shared url being my plugin page on wordpress.org ? Can I do that?, because most of the time you see share buttons with urls the same as the page they are on. In my case the page would be an admin page of each individual user of the plugin, not my plugin page url. I also checked out a few of the most popular plugins and I haven't noticed that any of these plugins would do something like that, hence I'm asking here.
And if it matters, I don't plan to create a Facebook or Google+ profiles, I will just stick to Twitter for the start, but still I'd like to utilize their share buttons.

Yes you can do that, i am not so friendly with the wp, but in the sharer , you can edit the url. Its quite an easy job if you ask me.

Yeah, I noticed it, but I just didn't see anyone doing something like this. Facebook or Google could check if the referrer matches the shared url, if they wanted to. Thanks. I'm still waiting for some more insights on this.
