Can a 38 year old learn AI from scratch and make any bucks ? ( No coding knowledge )

ChatGPT will replace junior devs in time but that is many years off.
I know it looks like chatGPT will replace junior devs in the future but then where do senior devs come from?

i wrote my first code (for fun) in 80s, professionally in 90s, and since last year i'm out of that game (mobile software development changes too fast for me and it was my last job)
i generally agree with you, but for the last 10 years your timelines (... to ... years) are cut to half

Yeah they're cut in half these days, but my figures are more for what a real senior dev's experience would look like.

I find it funny people call themselves a senior dev with 2-3 years experience. That's so little. Imagine 3 years ago you're flipping burgers, and today you call yourself a senior dev, in charge of large and complicated software systems, mentoring junior devs and doing code reviews. It's madness :-)

You can 100%. Here is my advice.

Keep your job until you have a STABLE income you can live off.

Pace yourself so you don't burn out with two jobs.

Mix it with something you enjoy. It will help keep you motivated, you'll know your audience and your product will be better. Into outdoors, make an AI generated outdoors niche site etc etc.

Don't obsess over your code. If it works then MVP and refactor later.

Don't box yourself in with just AI. If you can create something of value people will pay for it. Doesn't really matter what tech etc.

Good luck :-)

38 is no age and shouldn't be any barrier. " i get tired very easily " this is though, what is the cause of your tiredness? is there any way of improving this? with little energy and focus it will be an uphill battle. Sorting this out would be my priority. I started learning python and chatgpt api my self a few weeks ago, made some good progress, built a few chat bots and such. If you want to chat let me know. BTW I'm older than you
From where are you learning ChatGPT API? Could you point me to some tutorials?

Great post. I'd like to ask where you can find a good Python introductory course. I searched on Udemy but haven't find anything good yet. I'd like something that has many examples and projects to work hands-on.

Hey guys i work in a bank in india and its a very boring clerical job
i make around just 700$ a month .. i have severe health issues so i chose to work in a public sector bank where the work pressure is very limited
I have bachelors in comp science which is of no use now ... when i was in college i used to make some nice money doing clickbank and adsense selling crap etc etc
Now i am trying to learn CHatGPT but idk why i get tired very easily and i get demotivated thinking how old i am now and even now if i start if i can make good money online
i used to make around 1000$ a month when i was had no job ..that was long long back

Now i am trying to get back to the scene but idk where to start when to start what to do ..
anyone else here who started very late like me or lets say who came back after a break of 15 years ??
clear vision and hard work for your goals...yeah you can do that

The question is, why you shouldn't? There is no point of say if you can or no, you can.

I can understand your frustration. It's never easy to start something new, especially when you're feeling tired and demotivated. But I want to encourage you to keep going. You're never too old to learn new things or start a new business.

There are a lot of people who have started making money online later in life. In fact, there are many successful entrepreneurs who didn't start their businesses until they were in their 40s, 50s, or even 60s.

A little quick advice for you from my side -

It is good that you never said anywhere in your post that you want to quit your job.

So just stick to your job which is, despite being a dull and boring, providing food on your table.

As someone said in posts above, spend some time in the early morning or after the office hours to learn the new trade and build a side hustle. It is not going to provide you money anytime soon so stay consistent for a year or two. If you are good enough then you may make money even before that.

And yes, 38 is nothing man ... cheer up ... you are very young and hardworking. Stay motivated. Good Luck!

I thought the age number was 78 hence the question but 38 and yes read with health issues.

There's so much more you can do like I'm sure many have already affirmed but you need to believe you can else nothing will work out

I think it is very possible. One month ago I started learning voice 2 voice AI to deepfake people's voices. I learned and did it every day and got better and better over time. Now I am at a point where I can clone voices almost 100% accurate on even bad datasets (thing which many people cannot do unless they use paid services like 11labs), but I don't even know what a neural network is or anything like that. I just spent lot of time making stuff, and no coding involved. I am probably not much smarter than you, so I am sure you could do it to and earn good money

Yes, you can do this. I'm 47!

Use the AI to help you. ChatGPT is very good at coding and it can teach you! It can even debug code.

I've spent some time going through this free info to learn prompt engineering.

A prompt is what you type into a generative AI like ChatGPT or Midjourney to "prompt" an output. It's a great skill to have to get started with AI. Here's the free info, no strings attached - https://learnprompting.org/ That's not my site...it's literally the one I've been using to learn myself.

I've signed up to various newsletters. Here are some of my favorites:

There are a bunch of them out there.

I've set up bookmarks for prompting and for AI tools I'm trying out. I also use Raindrop.io to save a database of AI tools that I think are useful and have a future in the industry.

If you're savvy, you can start making money right away. There are still people who make money with Clickbank and Adsense. These two are far from dead. You can even make your own products! ChatGPT can help with that and save you a ton of time.

You can also make money writing prompts on prompt marketplaces like https://promptbase.com.

Invest some time into learning, be creative, and you can replace that old boring job with new exciting horizons. I wish you all the luck!

Age is just a number.

The real issue is do you have the time and hunger to learn ?
You might need to sacrifice some aspects of your personal life to make time for learning.

Most people get 2 full days every week.
They waste away most of those days.
In fact a few hours every day are gone in social media browsing.

Find time and put in efforts.

I think you should quit your current job, do it for additional income, make mass content with chat gpt + canva and share it as youtube short, tiktok and instagram reels
Can you put some more lights on this? It would be highly appreciated if you could give some examples. It will surely help.

“if you believe, you can achieve!”

The best bet you can make is on yourself, go for it!
