I was looking for ways to increase my page speed and I decided to deactivate the cache plugin and suprisingly my blog speed increased, is it possible that a plugin that's meant to increase the speed is responsible for it being slow?

Instead of deactivating the cache plugin, you can switch to other better plugins. when i using w3 total cache, my site take few seconds than usual to load the complete site. Now i'm using wp rocket + CDN, which gives better speed.

This can also happen if your hoster has very low memory limits for the PHP processes. Which hoster are you using?

You need to clear the cache frequently and your site will remain fast. If you wait for 1 month to clean the cache the site is going to become very, very slow.

Also you could find another alternative for the plugin you use, it may be cause of your problem and not the type of plugin itself.

There are many factors that may influence the speed of your website.
It's hard to solve them all if you're not an expert.

There are several page speed optimizing threads in the marketplace. For example, @Jeepy has a sales thread and he might help you.

Use a different plugin.
These type of plugins tend to make the sites sluggish.
Use W3 Total Cache.
