Buy Theme or Find Nulled one - What's your Opinion?

I am searching for some themes now for a new website and I started thinking if it's safe to use nulled themes?

What's your experience and what would you advice?

The cost is relatively big since you can get a lot of things for $30-$40 these days, but on the other hand I am afraid of messing with nulled themes, I have heard very bad experiences with this.

Sometimes it may not be safe to find nulled theme.

BTW, you can get paid theme for free from the man/company that made it (if he/they are stupid :D)

If you can find a good source of clean nulled themes, sure why not. You're starting out and can probably want to hold onto as much $$$ as you can.


After a while though, once you're settled with the project, you can go ahead and buy it if you'd like.


I usually go for nulled themes when I'm trying out new projects.
 
Unless you know the coding and can`t find scripts which offer "backdoors" or other malicious scripts then always buy one. There are plenty of places where you get many themes when you pay one time fee.

I see. I have decided on a theme but it costs $40 and this is 4 days earnings atm. So need to keep the cost as low as possible.
 
Grab Nulled themes of your choice, Use it, Then Buy it if you like..

Plenty of Themes have been shared right here on BHW.
 
You are rolling the dice with any nulled theme. Suffice it to say but many who offer nulled themes, do so with ulterior motives. They use clandestine coding to backdoor into your web properties.

You should look at buying developer packages from providers such as:

Solostream
Elegant Themes
Mythemeshop

You will invest a paltry sum but end up with some amazing themes.

For $69 you get all of their themes - currently there are 87.

Only a little more than the $40 you have mentioned but it should sort you out for a while.
 
I would use nulled themes for testing (design etc) but not for any live site.
Decent Themes are available that aren't expensive.
Why take the chance with your business?
 
Nulled for testing.
Once you liked it and banking or see some progress so for the paid one to receive official support and support the developer.

I won't be banking on this one for a few months at least. But maybe buying access to all the themes from one developer would sort things out for a year at least.

Hmm this is also a possibility, but it'll be a bit more than what i can afford atm. VPS, proxies, software, hosting, domains, accounts and themes is quite a lot of things to pay for... But I guess I have to be brave :)

Or just use a free theme that works until you have a revenue stream from the site... there are a zillion decent looking free themes that can work in most situations. I have several real good earning sites using the free WP themes that are available.

I rarely fall in love with a theme... it is only a means to an end.

It depends on what you use it for. Is it for a site you don't know if you are going to make any money? Go nulled. Is it for a paying customer? Go paid.
 
I like some of the MyThemeShop themes. They have a few that are free. They also tend to run promos often making certain themes only $9.
 
Hopefully this has been mentioned already, but if you're just starting out, using a free/nulled theme really isn't much of a threat. Then once you start making money, switch over to the paid theme. If you're tight on cash that's the best way to go. Though you should understand that if you're starting a website / membership site and want to do it right, it is more often than not going to require an initial investment.
 
Safety aside, it is better to just support the developers. Besides, you get updates anytime they come out.
