Hello,

Anyone knows which options exist to buy bitcoin using paypal without showing personal ID? Because of privacy concern.

I ask because I've searched a lot and almost all platforms ask for ID, selfie, or even videocall. What I was able to find was hodlhodl and localcoinswap which are non custodial and non KYC.

I was able to purchase bitcoin in hodlhodl using paypal without any ID. The problem is the exchange rate is too high, same goes for localcoinswap.

Also Bisq doesn't have paypal, only Zelle, which is another hurdle to overcome. Maybe if there's a way to get a Zelle account and a way to go from paypal to zelle, that could be anoption.

Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure but I believe Binance doesn't ask for an ID (for under a certain amount) and they have a P2P marketplace where you can buy with Paypal. I haven't used it personally.

You can buy bitcoin on PayPal. They have their own crypto section.
I wouldn't recommend doing that. You can't withdraw that Bitcoin from them, you can only keep it there.

https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/cryptocurrency-on-paypal-faq-faq4398Who can buy, sell, and hold Cryptocurrencies?
Customers in the US (except HI.)

Can I use Cryptocurrencies to pay or send money with PayPal?
At this time, you cannot use Crypto as a way to pay or send money on PayPal.

Can I use my Cryptocurrency balance as a funding source for my purchases?
No, not at this time.

Can I transfer Cryptocurrency into and out of PayPal?
Currently, you can only hold the Cryptocurrency that you buy on PayPal in your account. Additionally, the Cryptocurrency in your account cannot be transferred to other accounts on or off PayPal.

If you buy crypto in Paypal you can't even transfer it to another Paypal user. It's just an illusion of bitcoin, not real bitcoin.

true, it's the same for Revolut, you can't take it out, but at least you can transfer it to other Revolut users. It's how you move fractional reserve banking on bitcoin.

there is good sides and bad sides
Bad is that you can transfer it and you dont have the keys

some good side if they lose it they will replace it
also there is so many people that dont know sh@t about waltes keys and so on and i guess buy it on the low and then re sell it back to paypall when they are ready

The thing is they set the price they will buy/sell at. So you're stuck with the Paypal price. I haven't checked lately but I bet they have a huge buy/sell spread to cover their expenses.

Thanks, but all the services mentioned like paxful, localbitcoins, require KYC, and even a selfie or videocall after submitting ID photo.

Anyone can recommend some other service that doesn't have such huge spread on the price?

Lmao dont try buying Bitcoin on Paypal, I honestly don't see the purpose.

Also, may I ask whats the big deal in submitting a selfie? Its just used to make sure its you..
