We know that yellow members can post threads in the above mentioned sections but that’s the most they can do. Their own threads get locked up for them, which is probably a good idea since it may not be possible to selectively allow posting permissions for OPs alone in specific sections.

What I’m suggesting for is a bump button that allows the OP to bump their WTB and HaF threads if they needed to. This way, we’d lower repetitive threads being created by the same person because their last one didn’t get the engagement they wanted and would also create a better environment for interaction between sellers and buyers.

How it would work is that the OP (a yellow member) is allowed to click on this bump button inside their thread after x hours have passed (can be 72) if they need to bring it up to the front page to get offers from more sellers. A generic message would be posted from their account : “Bump”.

Purely thinking from non-premium member’s perspectives. Not sure if this has been suggested before or if it’s even possible to do so on Xenforo but would love to hear what you guys think.

Not sure if this would work. It's basically making it easier for new members to make money without paying. They need to go through the paces like i am doing at present.

it may also help to retain these potential buyers for a little longer, as some people wont be willing to make many threads until one gets an answer, but they would be willing to press a button. that said, once bumped, i think it shouldn't appear on the "latest posts" homepage section; it should go expressly to the HAF section.

I don’t think you understood what I’m suggesting here. It’s for yellow members to bump their WTB and HaF threads up. They won’t be making any money off of this. Freelancers like yourself will. :)

Yes. Exactly. Win-win for both buyers and sellers.

I am here , thinking all new premium members,as well as jvip should have upto 500 post and been on forum for atleast 3 months before they can respond to a want to buy or hire thread,

That's because alot of this guy's with post and time on site below the aforementioned are turning into scammers,

Whilst I definitely agree, let’s keep the thread on track please. It’s a feature for buyers. :)

The Hire a Freelancer and the Want to Buy sections are run under specific guidelines outlining the process https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/rules-posting-in-hire-a-freelancer.951769/ and https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/rules-posting-in-want-to-buy.951771/ respectively. We leave it open so anyone can freely post their initial question or request. If members then want to take the discussion further within the thread, they can purchase a membership and then post to qualify their requests, within the same bumping guidelines of the marketplace and if they don't feel they have received the type of response they are looking for.

Whilst a lot of members do follow the front page many others use the forum watch feature or those with a paid membership can take advantage of the custom homepage feature. So there are many ways to attract the service or product you want beyond thread bumping.

Is this what you’re looking for? It’d need to be customized of course but this is in that realm of possibility: https://xenforo.com/community/resources/ozzmodz-banxix-bump-thread.8128/

Thanks that's an interesting starting point, due to the size of BHW we've moved far away from the standard XenForo product and the community resource pages typically don't work for a forum of our size and complexity so unfortunately, it's not a case of plug and play these days. Whilst Xenforo remains at the heart of what we do, we've developed the rest of the body (to continue the physical analogy) around the core Xenforo product.

Asked - can we allow unpaid members to bump their HAF or WTB threads?
Answered - our current policy does allow that with an upgrade as part of the benefits of paid membership, it's not currently available to those on the free membership.
